1st thing I always do with new versions is to change it to use small toolbar icons and I edit the config file and change the select by name dialog back to the old style.

Great video! Does anyone know why drag and drag-and-drop feature is broken in Max? After some drops from the connecter plugin, I can't use this feature anymore even by hand dragging a max file from another folder.

I used Max almost 20 years, started very early at a age of 16 and since 2 years i made the switch to Blender. When i saw this video i thought i was watching a 80s movie.

hi RenderRam can you show us, how to do the UV mapping for herringbone or chevron wood flooring, that made with floor generator, of course there are multi-textures to do, but if we have to use specific textures, like specific wood or marble that has 1024x1024 resolution what kind of method you will choose ? do we need to cut those textures into the floor board dimensions ? please advise !

hey hey, can I jump in with suggestion? you can take marble for example, try to find bigger then 1024x1024, like 4096x4096 for example. make multimap, and then take your marble map, go to bitmap parameters, check "apply" in cropping/placement section. click on view image and mark a small piece of the image for the first map. multiply that map several times and in each one select different part of the image. that way you made x different maps from one bitmap. now apply those maps to your multimap and you got your material.

To change materials per camera with Scene Manager, you add an object to object module, then you have materials section next to the object you added. There you click the little pen button, that means that material change is enabled, then go to any other camera and apply different material to that object and click the reload button in that same material section Now two different cameras see a different material on the same object.

i would always setup units first. depending on your region units are very imporant and also the dialog when you open a file from the internet and it asks you what unit you want to use. is there a way to always force it to use system units?
