Great video friend. I will stay with the mini as I like the EQ commands. They are not better, just different... I agree about the price point almost a wash.

Thanks for watching Larry. The Mini is much easier, but I'll try to put some projects together with the Pro. After all, I have two of them. 😃

I experienced the hard way that the DFPlayer Pro will not work with the Nano Every. If this because the Every does not have EEprom memory? I tried many of the codes available and could not get it to operate so I had to use the MP3-TF-16P

I really didn't like the features of the Pro. I still use the DFPlayer Mini on all my projects. Much easier to program

Hi, Is there a stop function on this player like the DFPlayer Mini (myDFPlayer.stop()) im trying to get different tracks to play depending on which sensor has been triggered but without a stop function the DF Pro can't seem to do it.

Sorry it took so long to respont, your comment got burried behind many others. The library for this version is very limited. That's whay I waited a few years before posting this video. I was waiting to see if DFRobot would update the library, but htey had no interest in it. I could not find anyout library on Github, so I do have another sketch where I played with user input it's on my web site. Don't know if this will help any

All I wanted was a module that could play sounds on command (bluetooth input), but no matter what I do, I end up with the message: "DF1201S initialization failed! Check connections." I'm starting to really regret this purchase. All my other modules work great, it's just this one that's refusing to fall in line.

Got to be more specific than that. Do you have it soldered in a board or in a temporary bread board with the jumpers

Hi Tom!! Great video introduction to the DFPlayer Pro. I picked up a couple DFPlayer Pros to experiment with a while back. Nice that it has 128M on board ... but I don't really need stereo on my model railroad sound applications. So I still like the DFPlayer Mini ... but it isn't really much cheaper after you add the cost of micro SD card. Regarding the DFPlayer Mini. Do you remember the DFPlayer Mini "click" or "pop" noise problem whenever your microcontroller (Arduino) powers up or is reset? You mentioned the issue on a KZbin video in June 2018. Did you ever find a solution? I have been trying myself to remove the speaker click and kinda gave up. Ended up routing one audio output through a cheap 5VDC DIP reed switch which is turned on/off under Arduino control using a digital output. If the speaker output is then "enabled" after the setup commands for the DFPlayer Mini are executed ... just before program executes a command to play ... there is no speaker "click." All the best to you and Debbie ...

Thanks for watching. The Mini is better suited for sound fx, but on the Pro one has to create a file with multiple fx. With the commands it appears it was geared to jump within a file more than separate files for each fx. The price of a micro SD card pushes up the price of the Mini substantially. The built in amp seems to be more powerful than the mini. I couldn't use those small speakers on the highest range of the Pro, with the Mini there was still a need for more volume at the highest setting. Hard coding a delay is the biggest drawback with the Pro. I was hoping the Play Pin would be of use, but it just outputs a constant 3.3v weather a clip is playing or not! Eliminating the Busy Pin was a big mistake! On the Mini; User input such as a sensor to trigger a sound is a way around the click. I also add 1k resistors in line on the rx & tx pins between the device and the Arduino. I think this eliminated it also.
