My husband watches videos of skilled mechanics rebuilding transmissions. And I watch you. LOL. He walked in while I was watching this and made a comment about how we both like to watch 'masters of their craft at work'. He's totally right. :)

Thank you for all of the hard work you put into making your videos. The quality of your sewing and videos has taught me so much. I can’t even tell you how many times you got me through a challenging skill that I wasn’t able to master by just reading patterns or watching other online tutorials. Thank you for inspiring us and helping us become better sewists!💗

You make it look very easy and can be achieved by a intermediary seamstress. As with anything, the right fabric for the style is essential. But the hard work, if not using a commercial pattern, is in the drafting of the pattern using a standard dummy form, then taking personal measurements and applying this to the formula. Not everyone who is a novice gets this. The easier way is to take something that you already have and like the fit of and deconstruct it then use that as a template for your new made paper pattern. Also making yourself a toile material template - (onetime item ). Stretch material does not usually require the use of an overlooker machine but it gives a simple garment a more professional look. I never invested in that equipment but used the adjustable zigzag stitch on an ordinary sewing machine and then trimmed by hand. Overlockers make the process quicker if you sew many garments but aren't strictly necessary to invest in one if you are just sewing for yourself. You can do a lot of inspiration things with the bog-standard drop foot sewing machine, including free hand embroidery. Thank you for making sewing popular again 👍I liked the hand stitched hems too, a must. I don't sew as much as I did now because less is more eco friendly, I choose to adapt what's already in my wardrobe.

I always get a better surprise each time I watch any of the new videos you post . I wish if you would dedicate a video or two teaching us how to make our own patterns since the commercial ones are standardized and a lot of us do not have the standards bodies the commercial ones are made for

Hey, for those looking for a very similar dress pattern to sew, I just watched “Lifting pins and needles” , Karina’s channel and she did the Alana dress , from Sinclair patterns. It was the first time I saw someone doing that pocket detail that way. How clever. She did the contrast black fabric on the side princess seam and everything!

That is the dress that I thought it was. She made me decide to purchase the Sinclair pattern.

A fantastically flattering use of contrasting colours and looks fabulous on you❣️ would you ever consider doing a video on how you draft a pattern from your basic sloper? I would be very interested in that journey. You are so very soothing to listen to and would be a great teacher of what to consider when drafting. (I have been practicing by sneaking clothes into a dressing room and examining the lines lol.) thank you for this video...stay safe🙏🏻

Lovely, as usual. I have wanted to replicate a polka dot dress I had with this exact style but didn't know how to do the pockets. This came at the right time. What would you suggest for getting a flat facing? I never get it right.as the facing is always puckering even when I over stitch. Any suggestions?
