Hmmmmm I'm not sure why it would be different settings to those in the video if you are using canon 😕

is your camera lens on Manual because I find it difficult to shoot when I focus on the light my camera doesn't shoot

For the base image I would ask someone or the person in the image to light themselves with a phone torch to gain back button focus (or find focus and switch to manual). For the second exposure I’ve used manual focus to really blur the lights ☺️
