Great video!! Instead of bringing the other speedlight for the tree, couldn't you have change the shutter speed a little bit to allow more light?

Another amazing shoot and you make a 4 flash set up look soooo simple! I can still be your biggest fan girl right? 🤣😍 📸

Awesome work, thank you for the video. I just have one question. What shutter speed were you using for these photos?
@colinw82372 жыл бұрын
Hi Neil, beautiful photos. Can you tell me could these shots be taken without going into high speed sync ?
@NeilRedfern2 жыл бұрын
Hi Colin, yes they could, although you may need to use a narrower aperture to compensate for the slower shutter speed

You and Demi have such a wonderful synergy - it's a pleasure to see your many shoots together, Neil! If you ever choose to write a photography manual, I hope you'll use some of the photos you've taken with her. One question - did you consider using hand-held fairy lights to create foreground bokeh for this shoot and then decide to use the snowy overlay for some reason? I'm curious to get your insights regarding this as I always associate you with in-camera foreground bokeh with various gadgets too close to clearly see. Thank you! 🎄

Thank you so much! That is very kind of you. Demi is amazing to work with! And good question, yes I did, in fact I did on this shoot but the fairylights I had in my bad were too bright for this shoot so I didn't use them in the end. They would have worked if I was outside but not in the studio. I should have brought less powerful fairylights with me!

Great shoot and enjoyed seeing your build step by step, always super useful. As much as I love the newer Magbox, I've now found that the diffusion material is prone to snagging very easily (and I really look after my equipment) and use it sparingly as a hobbist and both the 24 and 42" Magbox pro's now have snags/ladders in them and unlike other softboxes you can just buy new diffusion material I worry that these will eventually degrade over time and sooner than they should at the price point.

What light stand did you use?
@NeilRedfern2 жыл бұрын
I use a heavy duty stand from Neweer for the MagBox and Manfrotto mini stands for the single speedlights
