This is a really great tutorial. Believe it or not, there are NOT a lot of this specific video ! P.S. I gotta say it, you remind me a lot of Halsey ( the singer ) many of your facial features are the same ! 5 seconds in, and it hit me.... you look like Halsey ! 🙂 ( I bet I'm not the first person to tell you that ) - I started searching on how to take a photo of somebody in front of a Christmas tree, didn't find much of anything and boom, found your video ! Hello, do you think 400w strobe is also ok to do it with umbrella or would you use smaller softbox? And size of christmas lights is also important here, right? i just cant do same with small led lights, it is just not enough light to see christmas tree, only few light spots in the darkness..

How do you prevent blur when she is moving and your settings are set to allow some ambient as well?

The flash should handle most of the blur.

The flash is really what exposes the subject, so blur shouldn't be much of an issue with this technique.
