Very neat! And such an awesome studio!! That wand looking thing is quite literally called a cigarette holder. While men at that time had smokers jackets, to prevent ash from getting on their clothing, women did not. So the ladies used those opera length holders.

Neil, I know this video was last year, but have you seen the new release portable smoke machines? Basically big vapes. Got a Lensgo Smoke B, but I'm hearing good things about the Smokeninja too!

Would have been cool to see images with and without the grid. With the light being so close to the subject it seemed like the grid made the light much more harsh than you would expect for such a large source.

Nice video, such a coincidence that I actually had this idea to do an Audrey Hepburn 1920's style shoot just like this for about a month and ordered a similar outfit, but with delays of Christmas and New Years and coming from overseas I still have not got it. You need to invest in a smoke machine, they aren't that expensive and much easier to work with than smoke pellets, not to mention different liquids can give you more of a haze effect than thicker smoke like you got (I think smoke machine looks more natural smoke than those pellets).

I'm surprised the studio Neil's in hasn't their own smoke machine to be fair. But I've a model friend who's after a vintage shoot, so I'm enjoying Neil's take on it.

Awesome video. I’m surprised the smoke didn’t set off the Smoke alarm. Actually are there Smoke alarms in the UK. Jk. Lol.

Great video but can't you just turn the flash power to the lowest setting instead of using the ND gel?
