Beautiful hair and it looks so shiny. In my opinion, I think that natural hair when straightened has a lot more volume and body than relaxed hair which looks a bit limp but your hair is luscious.

This was excellent. It starts by showing the way you alone performs pressing your hair. You present young, older and senior and other beautiful women how to care for and get true results. I read the comments and for me the only true comments are the ones with praise and question of how to get your results. You passed 100%.

I'm going to play devils advocate for a second and say that- just in my education as a stylist- i never, ever, use a straight up oil as a product before I press hair. It was stated to me as "what happens when you heat up oil?" The smoke isn't your hair burning, but it IS something called product burn off. Not only is it stinky, but its sapping your hair of moisture. Moisturizing oils should be used to finish hair and rehydrate. I'd personally invest the time to find a product formulated for heat protection as well as something for frizz/humidity. Tea tree oil is also a strange choice in my opinion. i use tea tree oil to dry up acne. it doesn't have that many moisturizing properties. I mean yes, your hair is straight and it's got body, but you're fighting yourself by heating the oil up to smoke and burn off.
@dakotajones6681
@dakotajones6681 9 жыл бұрын
i think the issue people face is that because its a hair product its going to act differently. But oil is oil is oil. and when you want to fry something you heat up oil. nice technique, great attention to the small sections and such, just not a fan of the product choice.

@dakotajones6681

Tbh I'm an Aveda trained stylist so I use Smooth Infusion glossing straightener or Smooth infusion Naturally Straight. I guess you could also just find a heat defense serum that is forulmulated for heat protection . Cream of nature has one. Or mixed chick's straightening serum. Things like that

What makes this a silk press the little bit of argon oil?? It looks like a normal flat iron. I'm trying to figure out how to silk press my hair. But
@MzTeeL
@MzTeeL 7 жыл бұрын
Jennie Smythe I know u asked your question three months ago but don't apply oil to your hair before flat ironing. It will fry it. Use heat protectant products. If u have relaxed hair then a silk press is just flat ironing...but if you're natural the silk press gives the allusion of a relaxer. The flat iron replaced the hot comb. Silk press is a modern day way of straightening your hair with the flat iron and it's suppose to be a healthier process
@jenniesmythe8188
@jenniesmythe8188 7 жыл бұрын
so ppl just gave a name to flat ironing.. thats interesting.. no wonder it just looks like the same thing no difference.. okay thank you. now i know not to go pay big bucks just for a press at the salon.
@MzTeeL
@MzTeeL 7 жыл бұрын
Jennie Smythe I'm not saying all that. Lol her hair came out nice but it can be better. Go look at deeper than hair on KZbin...and her IG name is sosheargenius. Salons give u a silkier look...that lasts weeks but everyone don't have those skills. Just make sure u do your research first. Good luck
@jenniesmythe8188
@jenniesmythe8188 7 жыл бұрын
i agree it does look nice .. but its a press out, unless theres more to it. the way stylist price a silk press vs a press is ridiculous. so if theres no difference might as well get a press. your always supposed to use heat protectant. so i know thats not it.. long as your stylist is good then anyone can get good results

I'm styling' the natural TWA...but just hair in general not having the same texture as yours,, I would like to see someone with hair that's maybe say dry brittle yes damaged just PLAIN not good hair, and REALLY, I'm not trying to be funny at all. I just see it all the time, I go to Hair events and all i see are ladies with gorgeous beautiful hair as the models, Not one person with bad "damaged" hair. If a product is being demonstrated and if it's all that Good.. I feel that it should be Demonstrate on someone who's hair is Jacked up. That's when the product becomes convincing.... but then that's just Me. That's all I'm saying..Now I do love to watch the videos most definitely, I have NOTHING against them at all, always watching. heck I gave you a thumbs up LOL... Hope you understand where I'm coming from.

MsDee J I see what you mean now. Unless someone has naturally brittle hair even though it's healthy, then that may be concidered bad hair. But most people do not have bad hair. It doesn't matter if it's extremely course or whatever. It's just maintenence really. One product alone isn't going to change your hair. You must have a hair regimine. You must also know how to properly moisturize your hair according to your hair porosity. Trust me, look up hair porosity. It'll changeeee your hair life. Oh yeah, Lol I'm not Chimere. :)

I thought it was product you put on before you blow dry your hair
@dejahwhite4603

It's flatironing without using any product. So when she used the oils that was a no no but she still got good results. Your supposed to hydrate your hair heavily during the shampoo/conditioner stage, blow dry, and use a very small amount of non-oily heat protectant then blow dry, trim, and (without adding any more product) flatiron in small sections.

+jasmine crowley I think it's called silk press because technically you're supposed to add silk serum to the hair after flat ironing, then wrap it with the saran wrap and sit under the dryer....that's the part that makes the hair bouncy and silky.

I will definitely be looking into that flat iron. I am currently in cosmetology school and most people that come in get blow outs so this will work great. Thank you!!

YoBootyStinks a silk pressed is the name for natural hair being straightened and flat ironed is the name for relaxed hair being straightened...the same thing done on different textures basically.

+meebaby20 You are right on the money. This silly Moroccan woman to criticise this gorgeous American woman that we all so know what she meant. As if to say with her Moroccan accent she pronounces everything in English perfectly. I imagine being at her side I would be spanking her knuckles with a ruler for just about every other word not pronounced perfectly. Silly woman to think she's perfect and Moroccan at that!
