I'm glad I tuned in to your video because I'm in the market for a camping cot and you have certainly provided some great advice. Thank you and I look forward to viewing your future camping videos.

Thanks for the thumbs up. The Coleman Lounge cot has been my favorite due to the carry bag and the fourth set of legs at the foot of the cot, but recently, when my family was visiting, several people were sleeping on cots and they liked the REI Kingdom Cot better then the Cabela's cot, based on how they felt after sleeping all night. Let me know if you have additional questions. Rick

Great tip on that extra blanket to keep your feet warm! I will be using that tip this coming weekend to stay cozy.

Glad it was helpful! It would be nice if there was a way to tuck the blanket in under the cot, but until they come up with that, the extra blanket is the best solution I have found. You just gave me a thought though. I'm wondering if there is an elastic strap that is the correct length that can hook onto the sides of the blanket and wrap under the cot that would hold the blanket down without having to use another blanket. It's something I'm going to look into. Let me know if you have any camping tips. Rick

What temp rating is your sleeping bag? Awesome video 👍
@mikenrickoutdoors4 ай бұрын
It's an older sleeping bag that I call a hunting bag and I believe it's rated to around 0 degrees F. I have a second one I put down at the bottom over my feet to keep the blankets from coming up and letting my feet hang out at the bottom and that's probably a 30 degree F bag. I also use a Portable Buddy or a Big Buddy heater and I'm plenty warm when it's 20 degrees F out at night here in Colorado. I haven't been out in zero degrees here yet but maybe I'll test out the colder temps this Fall and Winter. I hope that helps. Rick

Just started cot camping and looking for the best setup

This is the best way I have found to sleep when camping. Now Mike and his daughter also use this same method and they love it. It's taking me many years to figure this out but I love it. Having a small heater with this setup keeps me warm no matter what time of the year I have camped here in Colorado. Let me know if you have any other questions. Rick

@@mikenrickoutdoorsI had the same thought when I caught myself breathing hard on video while hiking. lol It's amazing how shedding even a few pounds and moving a little more helps tremendously.

Yep, and I'm working hard on that...and watching how hard I breath. Rick
