HOW I SOLDERED A NECKLACE FOR ERYKAH BADU - Jewelry Soldering Process
Well well well! I have hidden this footage and last week I found it so here is the video.
It was wild to learn about Erykah thru her Vogue interview for the first time and realizing that I am not the only one who is obsessed with GIANT statement rings and jewelry.
I did manifest Erykah into my universe. And it was very serendipitous.
Two days prior of knowing I would get to meet her I made necklace that I thought was "Very Erykah Badu" and here we were!
She is an absolute angel and a goddess. And I am so grateful to meet meet her. And I very grateful to be a part of Cosmo & Donato and Glamsquad boutiques that styled Erykah for her tour "Unfollow me".

Fun to see your whole process on this one. Still think it's awesome you were thinking of her while making it,...n then she actually got to get it from you in person. Such a great experience for you! 🥰 I still haven't found any ceramics or plates I want to try this with, but one day I will. I just finished hand making ornaments for Christmas. I was wire wrapping, soldering, drawing, painting, resining, and woodcarving,...and whew!! Got over forty ornaments, all together, in under a week! My poor hands,...lol 😂. But just in time for Christmas. I was in such a rush to get everything packaged and delivered, that I don't remember if I took pics. If I did, I'll share with you on your Etsy. Beautiful! ive trying for 2 days to add a jump ring to a coral breach with no success 😢, im about to quit, ive tri3d, copper, brass ailver plated, and they dont attach to it! Also tried putting together those brass backed cabochons but solder doesn't attach to them....i dont know what im doing worong or ia just a specific metal that i ahould be using?

I make wire bead rings at Burning Man. Have you figured out a way to make this at Burning Man? I'd love to find a gas fired soldering iron that would work. I did buy one but it just doesn't work for tining copper foil in a Burning Man setting.

Hi! I don’t usually go to Burning Man because I make costumes and style people during that time- but one day I would love to go! Is there a way to bring a generator so you can use an electrical soldering iron?

@madebylamodernique Yes.. but it's noisy. Your camp has to follow the fuel depot guidelines. There are lots of rules around all of this. It would be much better if you could find a propane or butane soldering iron that worked. I'm not sure there really is one tho.

@madebylamodernique Yes..I do silversmith for fun.. Wire bead rings & wire wrapped crystals is the best I can figure out for BM.
