if you're scared to write things down/feel uneasy about the idea that all your thoughts are in one place, where someone could find it, or something about the idea of giving tangibility/permanence to negative thoughts, i've made a rule where i'm not allowed to re-read my journals until at least 4/5 years have passed, so that i can maintain that distance. if i write things down knowing that i won't read them until i'm 25, it also helps me to be more open because i know that i'm not writing for any kind of audience if that makes sense. just a tip for anyone who is struggling with the same things!!

for anyone who needs motivation to journal - i've been journalling for over 8 years now (not totally consistently but at least every month for 8 years) and it is so interesting and therapeutic to look back on! you don't realise how deceiving your memory is - there are so many days or moments in my life which i would have completely forgotten if i hadn't journalled it. even the mundane, simple things become precious memories to cherish as time passes. you forget how intensely you felt emotions when you were younger, it's so nice to be able to look back and think 'wow i got through that', it puts a lot into perspective.

I've felt an attraction to journaling all throughout my life but couldn't stick with it as a child. However, there are some entries I wrote when I was seven or eight and it's just the most lovely (and most embarrassing) thing to look back on. I've been journaling daily for over two years now and love it, obviously. For me it's easiest to just write down whatever comes to my mind, but I think these prompts are a great kind of inspiration for beginners as well as for people who've been journaling for a while :) Thank you for this wonderful Video Nayna, I enjoyed watching it a lot

I follow the famous KISS Principle (Keep It Simple & Short). Before retiring each night, I journal by answering these 3 questions: 1) Today, what am I grateful for; 2) Today, what did I achieve/accomplish; 3) Today, what negatives took place (problems, stressors, worries, frustrations, etc.)? It takes only 15 minutes or less and is very helpful.
@user-we8dn5ub9z3 жыл бұрын
I have been journaling before I go to bed every night since 2016 and it's so worth it! It's amazing to have a record of every day of your life. I only fill a tiny A6 page each day and that's enough! I find that that's the perfect size for me because I never feel as though it's "too much work". It's only a couple of sentences and I can write more if I want to. Just a reminder that you don't need to write a lot - you can just write SOMETHING, even just one sentence if you don't have the time or don't feel like it. The trick is to make it a habit but never force it and before you know it, it'll be a normal part of your life like brushing your teeth

After seeing your Moleskine ad on your instagram the other day I sat down with my mum and used your prompts to reflect on 2020. It was such a nice way of looking back on what appears to at first be a very negative year, and look at all the things that have happened this year, giving us a chance to celebrate the positives and not simply dwell on the negatives! Honestly really enjoyed it, might have to start journalling more regularly now hehe!! ❤️❤️

Your advice has helped me so much! My biggest problem has always been that I'm such a perfectionist and therefore was never satisfied with how my writing looked and that stopped me from writing at all. Your video made me realize that it's not about how my journal looks, it's about what it means to me personally. Thank you so much Nayna! 🤍

I started my first journal when I was nine years old and it is the coolest thing ever to look back on those entries and see exactly what I was thinking... i know you'll love rereading your journals in a few years!! Also, my biggest tip is never to force yourself to write. I used to make myself write all the time, but I would always burn out and journaling would lose all its benefits because it was a chore. Maybe that's just me, but I tend to take breaks now and again and it def helps :)

Hi! Just wanted to say that while Moleskin is a nice brand, the pages are pretty thin for the price; especially if you plan on using markers, bold gel pens etc. I recommend looking into notebooks that have 100-120gsm pages!! Those are nice and thick! Moleskin pages are 80gsm so not that thick. Just and FYI if you are more interested in looking for a journal with thicker pages! :)

Came to the comments to look for the prompts so to anyone who did the same here they are: What did i do/how do I feel/what's on my mind today What am I grateful for She writes 2 things she's grateful for at the end of every entry Goals for today/this month/this year Where do I see myself in a few years (1/5/10) What's worrying me, how will I overcome these. Reasons why that doesn't deserve my time and energy. I had your mom's saying already written down from when I listened to your podcast ep :) "What you focus on magnifies" What am I proud of myself for What inspired me today What am I looking forward to A story from the past Quotes I'm loving/ want to implement Affirmations What do I need to let go of/Why am I holding in to this Where am I putting my energy into, how do I feel about it. Where do I want to redirect my energy Where am I finding joy What am I working towards How am I spreading kindness Tips and advice Be honest with yourself. Journaling should feel private. You don't always have to focus on the hard things Journaling is productive because it is self care :) This bonus video made my day

I’ve always journaled, but only when important of life changing events occur. The last time I journaled was a few months ago, where I wrote about the passing of my father. Since then, I haven’t touched my journal. I’m scared the pages would remind me of how painful it was. It was a much needed process for me to write what happened, but to this day I still feel that I have yet to properly grief and let go.
