The trucks are expensive for all trucks because of Covid. The manufacturers haven’t been able to get parts for new trucks so these big companies been buying all the used trucks up. The dealers are jacking prices up because of the demand. You should look into logistics. The JR colleges have started degree plans in logistics because logistics pays more than owning trucks. I’m starting a logistics degree program this month. I have an 18 wheeler and trucking company on my fourth year in business. Haven’t activated my authority yet because I had to do a $30k rebuild on my engine. Much love to all the entrepreneurs doing it for yourselves and your families.

Someone just brought one for 12,500 and the work cost maybe 6000.00. Licenses and fees all that came up to 21,000.00+. I’m thinking they paid that because of a contract they KNOW they are about to get, OR they have connections on high paying loads UPFRONT, OR They were told to tell you that and the sellers will say the same thing but they may have paid under that price. I'm currently in Charlotte, NC trying to get into this box truck business (getting away from hvac). So far $26 to add on to my LLC as a DBA, $300 toward FMCSA, $35 BOC-3, $60.75 UCR. So far I'm under a thousand. But my question is does anyone believe in leasing their box truck vs buying it out? Someone told me it was better to lease because whatever company you least from would cover if the truck ever goes down.

Getting a CDL is hard but not to time consuming, you should get your CDL and learn how to ally dock and blind side back really well, it can be useful especially if you're paying 50,000 for a box truck, you could get newer trucks probably for cheaper or a better price but CDL and trailer required.

It works great and tracks hours of service and everything else. did I mention that it is free with your rental LOL. You may have to watch some of the online videos to figure out all the workings because my Ryder people weren't too knowledgeable about the way it worked, but it's not hard to figure out. If you are just starting you want to minimize cost as much as possible.

Hey vic my application is pending for amazon relay. If I get approved can I send my 1 employee to do the loads for me? I am excluded from the insurance policy I only have my 1 employee on there. I do have workers compensation. Will that work for me? I don't want to get involved with the relay as much. I want my employee to handle everything like it was his company. If it's possible how would that work when he arrives to speak to the staff? Or is it mandatory for me to go to the facility to let them known?

For some reason I rarely purchase vehicles in S. C. They always have the most astronomical numbers for any vehicle. And I'm sure they are price gouging around here. Many factors play a roll for what's decent. The range now is 30k and up 250k miles and under would be decent at those prices. International, Hino, Freightliner, Kenworth.
