I appreciate your story and your channel. I’ve been an amateur wood worker my whole life, and now that I’ve passed 40, the thought of working for corporate America for the rest of my life makes me want to curl up and cry. I’m really trying to find the courage to start a wood working business. This video helps the push in that direction. Keep up the good work man. Thanks for sharing your story.

I have said in comments before, but I want to say it again here. I think it is outstanding of you to have your son involved in your woodworking. he may be too young for a lot of it yet, but he is not only learning the hobby/business of woodworking, he is seeing what a real dad does. spending that time with him is the most valuable thing gift you can give him. I lost my dad when I was 13, but when he was alive, we did a lot of wood and metal work together, among other things. those are the very best memories I have. I try to do the same with my son. my whole channel is my son Jack and I hanging out.

Jason, You remind me of some very important information I was given years ago. 1) Learn to laugh. 2) Most important is to learn to laugh at yourself. Don't take yourself too serious. Dude, just a comment meant to be a compliment, realizing I’ll never buy a piece of your work. I’m old retired and have more stuff than i need or can use. So here goes, this the best of all videos you have made !! It shows a serious side of you not shown in any others . Your work is fantastic, as are you explaining what you do and why. Your attention to detail , tips and shop techniques are great etc. but here goes what I feel you are lacking, that being to marry all these qualities to the seriousness I seen in this video. TV and entertainment in general has all the silly antics to entertain a world full of people you have nothing better to do than sit on the couch and eat popcorn and laugh. Your skills transcend that and can be better appreciated in a more serious, professional platform. This come from an 80 yr old codger who started his own business at 20and understands the struggles you have and will continue to both in business and with that beautiful family. Mike

I fell in love with sanding, the first moment I felt a piece of 120 velcro paper. It took me for a LOOP but I was HOOKED....Then I found that satisfaction came from cleaning up the globs of glue on the tip of my glue bottle. The feeling STUCK with me.....then I realized the best feeling I get from my wood shop is sweeping up sawdust and brushing off my clothes at the end of the day, so I built my own broom and dustpan... what a feeling.... I AM A PROUD WOODWORKER.....oh, and I like to make furniture too.

"fell in love with woodworking".. I love woodworking, knowhow isn't that great and not to mention experience ... but I do have tons of enthusiasm and will to improve.. In the end I'm still afraid to pick it up seriously, because buy-in with tool is somewhat steep if you want / need decent tools that makes life easier and so on (planer, jointer, table saw, ... and ofcourse shop vac to all such devices) and not to mention place where to work (no garage ..)...

One night I was sitting there with my wife, a random call comes in, and a couple days later, I've got a beautiful baby that we adopted. I'm an engineer for a City I live near, but over the years my hobby has turned into a passion and a budding business. I now wake up at 4am to get some shop time before the kiddos wake up and then my priorities shift to being a father. I hope to cut the chord in the next couple years to become a full time custom furniture maker. Keep up the great work! Cheers.

I’ve been a software engineer since I was 20 and coding since I was 12. I’m 30 now. Me and my Wife just bought our first house and I’ve built my first cabinet now I’m obsessed with wood working. I’m so fed up with IT even though it pays really well. I’m considering changing careers into carpentry and this videos just inspired me to explore that. Thanks for the awesome videos. They are inspirational.
