I print out a sheet with my name, address, phone number, email, emergency contact and specific health information on it, just in case I'm unable to provide it if something happens while I'm traveling. I include my blood type, medical conditions, prescription drug information, allergies, vaccination record and other details. I keep a copy in my personal item bag (tucked inside my passport) and another copy in my carry-on luggage. Having this information handy can help a medical professional know how to treat me and might save my life!

My wife travels way more than I do. And she has a similar sheet. Luckily she's never needed medical care away from home. More often than not, when I travel I get some bacteria or virus. She would travel less if that was her experience.

A walking stick/folding cane. I cannot walk a long distance without one and the support makes a walk bearable. Since I had arthritis in my teen days, I appreciated the relief it brought me. All year around, a hat is indispensable! It’ll keep your noggin in pace with the season and keep you youthful by deflecting damaging rays from your face. Last but not least, keep a pair of sunglasses on hand to shield against distracting light and to keep people from reading your mood!

Hi Alina, very informative video on your ten tips when you are traveling abroad, thank you very much for that valuable info. I would also recommend to your fans and you, to carry as well a bottle of Alovera with Ludocaine, just in case if you by any reason didn´t apply enough sunscreen lotion on your body and got sunburns, for example, due to excesive sun exposure after a day on the beach. Alovera with Ludocaine is not a cosmetic but is rather a medication to prevent pain and discomfort after your skin has been exposed excesively to the sun. It is sold over the counter at any chain store. You beauty of beauties , rgs ❤❤❤

This was very relevant to me. I don't intentionally travel to places where diseases are rampant. I'd rule out India. But two trips I took to Europe ended up with me ill. First I was hospitalized as a preschooler for diphtheria. Very very sick. That was a cure for a while to leaving North America. But more recently I joined a Bulgarian tour. Out of the touristas I was the only person who contracted a virus that caused 15 pound weight loss. The local doctor called it "summer flu", so there was no hospitalization. I even took a trip to Toronto and got sick on the way. That was one case out of about 6 Canadian trips, but it tells me there are a whole bunch of risks of illness in traveling. You know about them, and they always take me by surprise.

Staying Healthy and Being Well when you travel should always be the number one priority. Alina, you always have it covered. You can never be too careful. We might add comfortable clothing and comfortable shoes appropriate for the place you're travelling to. You might think we should already know this, but you would be surprised. Another tip to consider , which works for both Harriet and I . is to not go to sleep immediately when you arrive at your destination in another time zone. Give your body time to adjust. Things to consider. Alina, hope you're enjoying a restful and most enjoyable time in Canada with family and friends, Sending you much love from a Hot and Humid Richmond, Va.❤❤❤ Jim, Harriet and Yuki

Especially if you're going to an Asian country and your feet are on the larger size because there's a good chance they won't have it available. Considering I knew someone who got Dengue fever and nearly died, and resulted in ongoing issues that affected his life, and may have ultimately shortened it. I should have considered carrying this. My only question is should I consider health advice from a person who says be very cautious of walking through tall grass as there are extremely poisonous snakes here. proper protective footwear is advised. This person was wearing almost not there sandals. Yes, I should ,but this person admitted even they sometime push boundaries. Great advice though, especially the travel insurance, expensive as you age, almost never used, but as you said when you need it, you usually really need it.

Iloved Alina’s old videos and for a time was a Patreon. But I think she missed her chance. Here was this attractive charming young woman with a large number of fans. She knew Russian, her mother was from Ukraine, she had relatives in Kyiv. In front of her was one of the most important events of the past 100 years. We are watching the decline and fall of Russian imperialism. The agony and bravery of the Ukrainians has ripped Russia’s mask away and shown the world what it really is. It is teaching the world that imperialism and autocracy tends to make a society inefficient, hugely unequal, economically corrupt, brutal and alcoholic. Russian generals have made mistake after mistake. The Great Leader couldn’t come up with a better rationalization to attack a peaceful nation than de-Nazification. This, in a democratic country with a Jewish president. This war was right up Alina’s alley. Never mind the mass media and it concentration on talking to generals and high officials. She could show the human side of this epic struggle. Some danger involved but she seems a brave person. What a shame and disappointment.

It's very insensitive of you to say that to someone who has family and friends in an active war zone WHO CAN'T LEAVE. I have never been a political channel, nor do I ever want to be a political channel. When the war is over of course I will go and help in person and film about the situation, but it is absolutely stupid to tell someone to go there and risk their lives right now unless they have skills that are absolutely relevant to the situation. If that is disappointing to you, I would ask you to just not watch my content at all.

@@AlinaMcleod I take it back about you being brave. Doing human interest videos about a people's struggle to survive and manage in difficult situations is not political. I promise never to watch your videos anymore.
