What do you mean by ramp up and down time that leads to x2 meeting duration? That should not be happening. Schedule the meetings for longer if needed.

Talking to a person you can really find out if he's good at what he does or he is not. For example I'm sure many of us will get a feeling from watching this video that you're probably quite a reasonable guy and good at what he does or at least has lots of potential. So yeah, I guess behavior tests can work well. But yeah, only by that criteria, you can miss a lot of devs that are actually very good but just haven't yet mastered a good way of expressing themselves.

I agree. Being able to tell the story around the technology is an important skill that is often undervalued and challenging to learn.
