@@elizabethfilips yes, I'll add to it too, I don't remember the last time when 26 min spent on youtube were so useful to me. It's so great that you shared the notion template. And I think there's something very valuable that it's not shared by a therapist, but by someone who has learned it from a therapist and has really used it in personal life. Huge thanks from a subscriber who never comments anywhere!

"The Brain Dump" helps me a lot too, just never called it that. Just writing everything down helps me feel a bit better and gives me a bit of a push for some reason. Never tried having separate "to-do list" and "to-deal list" definitely wanna try that out too now. Thank you for sharing what works for you! :)

From someone a tad older than "26" Here's an observation - we have "issues" all our lives. If not, you are simply not paying attention. To mentally self-evaluate is going to be far more important than most of us might think - or - openly admit to doing. We are born alone - we die alone - and - the rest is a gift - so unwrap it.

Wow the way you explained this and visually showed it in Notion -- honestly the best explanation I've seen/heard for this sort of self-reflection excercise! I tend to dread facing my limiting beliefs especially when it comes to self-worth because it can be painful to bring those to surface and I'm the type to just think "let's not go there" -- but this template I think will help me so much to give myself the space and courage to do. Thank you so so much for making this video

How u chunk quite a complex thing so effectively, and deliver it so smoothly always awes me. And the Notion clips as example was top notch. Your step-by-step detailed videos are so fun to watch. Its like someone is discussing something with u sitting in front of you. And you being there in a tidy room with such a background, and different time of the day in a single video makes me feel like i just spend the whole day with a close friend discussing something really interesting! Thank you so much for your hard work Elizabeth. Please keep up the good work!!!

thank you for sharing, Elizabeth :) I'm 19 and slowly starting to discover how I overreact and brood over things that don't deserve my headspace. I've known for a while now that I have core beliefs that are entirely too negative, but I never did anything to confront or change them, more like i willfully pretended I wasn't feeling low. This video definitely made me realise that I need to deal with and modify the way I see myself or it'll just lead to more, like you said, 'self-sabotage'. Your vulnerability and rawness is such is such an inspiration to me, and I've learnt quite a lot from you this past month. thanks again

There's more makeup videos, photos and videos are more appealing because they're visual media, but only you choose what's on your homepage. If somebody likes cars/pet videos, all the algorithm is going to give them is cars/pet videos. Sometimes I see people complaining about trends that celebrities are sporting - but then why are you following celebrities? No adult is going to quiz you on what some celebrity is wearing. The same algorithm that is sick and creates people stuck in their bubble who believe conspirancy theories can be used to your advantage.

I love the Theory A/Theory B exercise. Especially with how you mentioned that what we consciously know is not always the belief we have internalized and are functioning at. I've noticed it within myself and it can be hard to break down damaging internal beliefs when I consciously know that it wouldn't be a belief that serves me-it's a double-edged sword. This exercise is so helpful for situations like this!

Thank you so very much for this video and the important message. I believe that 'devil is in the details,' so each step of this process made sense to me, and I think it is a great help in understanding ourselves in depth & connecting with our core. One of the exercises I learned in therapy was 'body-scan meditation,' (a secular form of meditation) that helped me to learn to acknowledge + understand how my body processes emotions and how to better connect with my gut feeling. I hope you have a wonderful day, stay safe 👍

Although I already have a CBT process that I am happy with it was incredibly interesting to watch your video. I really like your concept of "mental hygiene." Every time I do CBT by myself it works wonders but I usually only do it when times get rough. While "mental hygiene" makes it sound like an almost daily thing you do in conjunction with your other hygiene activities. Additionally, this must have been incredibly difficult to upload, I wish more people including myself were as brave as you.

CBT changed my whole mindset. I struggle with the exact same issues as you. With an additional adult adhd diagnosis. It’s been so hard to deal with the fact that I’ll always have to keep working on these things and I’ll never not have these issues in some way or another. But CBT is so simple as you practise it and becomes so effective that I actually feel motivated to continue doing it because of how it makes my everyday life so much better. No brain funk from bad thoughts. No feeling of being on the emotional edge from all the carried anxiety. My responses to stressful situations have changed. As I’m typing this I’m realising how much therapy has helped me. I’m really grateful. I hope this comment reaches the right people.

Elizabeth, you're a life-saver. I have just discovered you, watched several of your videos on mental health, and they're already helping me so much. The best thing about your videos is that you're not like a therapist talking about these things in medical terms and giving advise to patients. You're just a human with similar struggles as me, sharing your struggles and fears and how you deal with them, and it feels like having an intimate conversation with a friend, it's so comforting, and I feel that I'm not alone in this. Thank you so much for this amazing content! Even the video about your paintings is not just a collection demonstration, but it's so deep and profound and made me think of how I feel about certain aspects of life. I absolutely love how much thought and emotion you put into your content.

I love this vlog. I have a mental health professional and I love it when people acknowlegde the importance of mental health and prioritise it. I also love the fact that you personalised some aspects of CBT and make them work for you. This might be random but the fact that in medicine it is importance to look for the evidence base of any treatment , creates a cute connection with that aspect of CBT looking for evidence for our irrational beliefs and then also for more balanced beliefs. This video promotes mental health in some many ways....thank you!!!

I think alot of things I struggled with, I just thought to be totally normal; and yet now I know they were not good coping mechanisms. It's been liberating really to address them. I totally second your recommendation to go to therapy if you can. If you can't afford therapy, a person online who is very good at explaining this is "Therapy in a Nutshell" - particularly this playlist on "How to process emotions".
