Vital vaults for sacks of grain and Mason jars for brewing salts. I use the vacuum attachment on the jar for calcium chloride. I also store my acids inside Mason jars as well.

Very cool and I have almost the exact same setup. One thing i did for the Dollar Tree containers was cut the label off the bag of specialty grain and tape it to the front of the container.

I use the Vittle Vaults for my base grains and and generally keep the specialty grains in the bags they come in. But you've give me some things to think about. The only thing I typically vacuum seal were hops, but I think I'll start packaging the specialty grains in smaller containers

Excellent Job. I use the same big Vittles Vault containers and some of their smaller versions. I use to use containers from the dollar store but the ones I had didn't seal as well so I ended up buying the 32 oz Plastic Deli Containers from Amazon which is even cheaper compared to the dollar store and they can hold about 1 lb of adjunct grains plus they seal amazingly well. The 8 and 12 oz versions are good for other things like brewing salts and such. Keep up the great work.

Nice video. One thing you didn’t mention was temperature control. I live in Florida and store everything in my garage and in the summer it gets very hot and humid. Not sure how long the grains would keep in those conditions. I do use the vittle vaults and store my premade recipes in them for safe keeping. I usually buy 2-4 recipes from my LHBS at a time since it’s over an hour from my house.

I have a large plastic fermenter, it's one of those 50 liter fermenting tuns with a green screw lid. I will dump my 25KG pale ale base grain at the bottom and stack all my smaller 1kg bags of grain on top of them. All in one bin, almost no waste of space.

@@ShortCircuitedBrewers Thanks! I'm brewing in a shed in my yard thats also the tool shed, bicycle shed, general storage shed and it has my motorcycle in it. So I'm pretty much an appartment brewer but then on ground floor, organization is key and space comes at a premium. One day I dream of having a brewery like yours. :)

For some reason, I never pictured the scale of the 60lb Vittle Vault. I think I might have to pick a few up now for the open bags of grain. Lots of great info! Cheers!

I use the 30 litre bucket fermenters for the bulk grain. They can hold roughly 20kg of grain. The extra 5kg of the bag gets used in the first couple of brews. I store the speciality grains in kitchen food containers. Just for reference a 1.5 litre container can easily fit 1kg of grain.

Love the video! I have a bunch of those same exact Dollar Tree containers for specialty and adjunct grains and I wondered if anyone else was using them as well. They work great! My base malts are the same setup minus the Vittles Vaults, I just use 5 gallon buckets with Gamma lids. I haven't seen those smaller brewing salts containers at the Dollar Tree - for salts I've been using mason jars or re-purposed Skippy peanut butter jars. I've been using my vacuum sealer (originally purchased for BBQ leftovers) for hops for years, always re-packaging to smaller amounts from 1lb bags, but I never thought to make pre-packaged multi-hop additions for certain recipes - brilliant idea! Love these types of tips & tricks videos, keep it up!

I am always looking for storing stuff, grain, hops, yeast & oranges peels and so on. Currently I'm using old fermentation bucket with a screw lid for the grains. And for the rest I am using smaller container from IKEA. Keep the video coming, Great work👍

Thanks Brian, great video. Been starting to buy my own grains in bulk. Like the gama lids you have. Also need to get some smaller containers for my speciality grains. Only buy the 50 lbs for base malt. Also use a vacuum sealer to package my homegrown hops! Cheers 🍻

Brian, thanks for the video. I recently bought a grain mill from Monster Mills and now I’m into building up my grain stores. I was given a 50 lb bag of 2 row as a bday present so I had to make the leap. Theres a Dollar Tree close by, so I’ll check out the containers. I store the 50 lb bag in the grey upright screw top container from the pet store similar to what you show in the video. Happy Brewing! I watch your channel frequently.

Yeah I was thinking about doing some research on some popular recipes in the brewfather library and try to break down what you should have in stock depending on what type of beer is you Brew.

Enjoyed this for sure! I've been looking for better storage solutions. Unfortunately I don't have a LHBS so I have to order online and I always buy extra to reduce the number of orders in the future.

That's a good method. You can get around the massive shipping on full bags by buying 5 - 10lb bags of grain .. 😉 👍🍻
