Thank you Yana. I have been storing my dies the same way but putting them in separate sleeves as well. I was arranging them further in drawers earlier and then had a bad day when the drawers slided forward themselves, opened and the entire cupboard fell on me. The magnetic sheets added too much of weight. It was too difficult to close all the drawers back and lift the cupboard alone. Thanks to my son who helped me. I have now divided my collections and put them in baskets and keep them on shelves. Also, I make sure to avoid adding magnets to all those dies which have less small elements. Like all nesting dies and slimline dies can be simply stored in die storage sleeves.

So awesome! I use the vent magnet sheets too, with chipboard added. I put them in various pockets made for totally tiffany supply case which holds 12x6.5 inch pockets, in 1 pocket, 2 6x6 pocket, and several other configurations. I only do a few full one pockets because of the weight, but I use those for alphabets big enough to need that space, or another has large feather, bird, and butterfly dies. Some sets I can get away with using less magnet sheet in the pocket because I just need to use enough to securely hold them and be able to easily pull it from the pocket. When I get some long stripe dies or slimline it will work for that too. I have my stamps and some embossing folders stored this way too, all mixed in appropriate categories, and keep stencils or dies with their embossing folders or stamp sets. Even background stamps, two per long pocket if they are 6x6.

Hello! Cathy Zielske mentioned you on one of her videos about your metal die storage. Such a great idea. I had bought chip board and I bought a roll of magnetic magnet......And I ended putting the magnetic on my wall and were storing some there, since it's so very hard to remember what you have. Also I am not a great orginizer. Actually I suck at it. I'll have to give this a try. Also putting the extra die cut pieces behind in a plastic container. Genius!!!!!!! Thank you very much. I love love this. I use magnets too but never thought about the chipboard truck and yes my dies keep falling off. And oh the pocket stuck to the bag for left over cuts. Duh-why didn’t I think of this.

This is almost how I do it, light cardboard with vent covers cut down and a sleeve. I chose 8x 5 based on the US vent magnet size. Then I slide it in a 5.5x8.5 three ring binder page. I don’t use binders, just the pages. This way if anything falls off, at least it’s still down in the sleeve. By and large instead of the labeling, I just stick a piece of the original packaging with the name/sku in the back of the sleeve with any extra die cuts. Since I’m not making videos, the brand and type is not is not necessary so I can list but I do like to know that information because it makes it easier to search online for inspiration. I have mine categorized In a standard size plastic bin that I got from the container store. I’ve even taken some Old Farmer’s release type ones, and just put the packaging in the sleeve and put that in my pants. Since they won’t fit on the sheets, having the images of what I have stored in a drawer has allowed me to use things I have not used in years. I’m not saying any way is better, but I just love this slate method similar to yours even though the size is different. I am getting so much more use out of my days having them this way!

Great video Yana! I have been using the magnetic vent covers for awhile too, but have been putting them in a storage sleeve. I recently decided I want to add a cardboard backer because they are too flimsy. For some reason I had it stuck in my head (no pun intended) I had to use a special glue to get the cardboard to stick to magnets. I hadn’t figured out which type yet- then voilà! You showed me that the tape I already have will work! Duh on my part 😂! But yippee for Yana 😊! Thanks so much for sharing.

Yes! Helps to stay much more organized. And I've noticed that I want to use deeper pockets for some sets, say floral. I have tons of leftover doe cut flowers, and having a deeper pocket would be better.

It makes me so happy to see this because I'm doing something right!!! 😮😃😍❤️❣️ I've been creating a similar system of magnetic sheets attached to cardboards cut to fit in small crates that are 6.5"x4.5"x11" and store two, side by side, on my Ikea Kallax cubes. I also attach a plastic sleeve to the back that I use to store any matching stamps, layering stencils, extra dies or plates and left over die cut bits. I organise by company unless it's a "shape/form" (like rectangles, circles, etc.), strictly sentiments, or specific themes like birthday, holiday, etc., - each of which have their own designated crate. I'm finding this type of system works so well for me.

I don't have too many slimline, to be honest. Maybe 2-3 sets. I don't have them organized yet, but the ideal solution, yes, would be to cut magnets and chipboard specifically for the slimline size. I have some random dies that are A2 size (especially glimmer plates), and I did cut magnet and chipboard specifically for that size.

Hi Yana… thanks for sharing your Die storage… I love that they are easy to create, they’re uniform in size, easy to flip through to find what you’re looking for, stored on the top rack of your rolling cart for easy access, and that they’re in one place (other than the dies that go with stamps). I currently have too many systems (maybe because I have too many dies LOL) from letter size binders & the small Tonic zip binders, Zutter plastic boxes, and most recently a partially filled Tiffany die storage system with slide out trays (which has potential but is admittedly a bit quirky). I suppose my eclectic system works for me because of the variety of large & small dies, brand, type or whatever method to my madness I had in mind because I can usually find what I’m looking for relatively easily but I was impressed with the simplicity and functionality of your die storage. Thanks for taking your time and energy to share it. Have a wonderful weekend… although I don’t have/make time to watch every video and/or comment, you continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. Love it! I do a similar type storage. I get magnetic sheets from Amazon. They are 8 x 10. I cut them in half and adhere each one to cardboard from cereal boxes or similar packaging. I slip the magnet with the dies inside a 8.5 x 5.5 plastic sheet protector. I put any extra die cuts in a tiny plastic bag and slip them in front with the die. I keep the packaging paper...Sizzix, Spellbinders, etc, behind the magnetic sheet. I also, use my label maker, but I put what it is. Like alpha, birds and so on. I do have a divider with a tab that shows where my most used dies are...circles, flowers, etc. I love your system without having a plastic covering over everything to make the dies easily accessible. But the magnetic sheets I use aren't as strong as the vent covers. My dies would probably be laying in the bottom of my container. Lol Thanks for sharing! ❤️ ~Suzy

To be honest, I've never found a storage system by a company that really worked for me. They were all too bulky or ineffective. There are so many out there, and I'm sure they work for some people. But not for me in my current craft room layout. Thank you for your kind words ❤️

To be honest, I don't organize them beyond this. I have them all on the top shelf of a rolling cart, and I just flip through them when I need to find smth. Plus, I typically remember where a particular set is, so that doesn't take too much flipping.

I've been using very heavy magnetic 8.5x11.5 inch . Cut them to 8.5 x 5.5. But, now I can hardly lift the box! I like your idea of having them in a rolling cart. By the way I should go back and put chip board. I hate when dies fall off because of flexibility. Do you like to sort by genre or die pack? I was thinking of sorting by alphabets words, trees, flowers etc. Or would that get me in trouble when making a certain card ie sleigh set?
