@@vheymoon Sooo hard! and nope not that I've noticed at all hahahah. If anything at all I just use dimensional analysis to do med math and I learned that in chem but its not directly related to nursing at all. Basically just get through the class and then you're done and its so nice when you start classes where you can just focus on actual nursing material that you'll use in the clinical setting! :)

And you know how you said you write notes in lectures and then when you get home re listen to the lecture and write notes on it - what do you do with the notes your do online in the lecture? Are they just used in class ?

Yes, I just use them in lecture. And if i need they are always on my ipad to look back at! I use the second set of notes that i write more i just like to take notes during class too because my professors usually say a lot more than is written on the slides ☺️

Hello Paige! First I want to thank you for this video. I am getting a second chance in nursing school with a different college, because my previous one didn't care about the students who needed help the most and just keep the ones that make them look good so that they can keep their accreditation. Their lecture instructors don't teach at all, and when I did med Surg 1 that teacher just kept reading word for word from 100+ slides, instead of giving a summary and explaining the material better. For someone like me who has never been in a nursing setting, their teaching style at that school never worked for me. But I do have a quick question: being that there are pathos with many signs and symptoms, instead of trying to memorize all of them is their an easier way to know which ones are the ones we should mainly focus on? Like do we follow the ABCs as a guide to remembering the s&s of an illness?
@paigehoagland2862 жыл бұрын
I’m so sorry to hear you have had a tough go at nursing school, it definitely isn’t easy- especially if you don’t have support from faculty. As far as remembering s/s yes ABCs can help, however i found it best to just try super hard to memorize all of them. It helped me to make pneumonics like make up a phrase or word that is the beginning letter of each symptom. For example, if the symptoms are diaphoresis, hyperglycemia, and headache, i would remember something like “dad hates ham” or something silly like that lol. I hope that helps!! Good luck with everything ☺️
@prin9732 жыл бұрын
@@paigehoagland286 thank you so much for your tips! I'll definitely try making mnemonics for the s/s so that I can better learn them. With God's help I will do much better this time, bc I won't let nothing stop me 😁

@paigehoagland2863 жыл бұрын
Yes i add them to the second set of notes i make when i rewatch the lecture. Most of the time i don’t have to add much from the textbook because my professor already talked about it in class so i already wrote it when i rewatched the lecture!
