I had to learn some turkish as a german too, because ive married a turkish woman and it was really diffucult at the beggining. Now after 4 Years of marriage iam realizing how funny this language is. there are so many words which have different meanings. much more than in german. i really like turkish jokes they are very funny. It also helps at the bazaar on vacation.

Turkish KZbin Channel recommandations for shadowing: Yağmur Arat-Travel Trail of Us-Travel Aslı Afşaroğlu - Slice of life Çilem Akar -Mainly teaches English but you can reverse learn(?) from it. Barış Özcan-very interesting/informative videos, it has English subtitles YapımBöyle Film-they rant about common issues Refika'nın Mutfağı -similar to Joshua Weissman but in Turkish. The way she talks is very clear and who does not like cooking videos? TRT2- It is national tv channel's art and history branch on youtube. Their videos are very informative and clear but might be too advanced for beginners.

I completely agree with you on wanting to sound like a native speaker. Your accent and the way you pronounce the language are such a big part of becoming 'fluent' but somehow there are still so many language learners who underestimate the importance of it. When I first started my language learning journey I used the shadowing technique so much and it has paid off, and, to this day I still keep looking for chances to perfect my accent. If you want to become fluent, you just can't not pay attention to it.

I was in Turkey a couple of weeks ago, at Tekirdağ, to be more specific, and it was your run of the mill Turkish city in the European part, but I think that's why I liked it so much - their center was just winding streets with buildings on theee storeys full of shops, there were two mosques in our vescinity, one was a former Byzantine church, bagel vendors (and I think we gave the guy 50 lira instead of 12 (on iki), he looked shell-shocked) and the pathway along the Marmara sea, walking through residential areas and along the countless Atatürk portraits made me really love the city. Ironically enough, I had to learn some Turkish, because people there didn't know anything outside of it, and I fell in love with how it sounds (radio broadcasts, people talking with each other while we walked around, I tend to hear lots of Turkish songs anyway, on TV etc.). I'm unsure about learning it, but here's to ,,Iyi günler, baklava nerede, beş baklava isterim, teşşükler, güle güle" or the infamous ,,Inglişce beliyor mısınız". It was fun, would recommend ✊✊ +++We have lots of Turks in Bulgaria, so I think it'd be generally beneficial in that sense, too

*Fun fact about Duolingo!* • Duolingo was actually created not for learning languages (initially), but to help translate the web as it was being developed in the early 2000s. The very patient and triumphant people behind this task to make the internet more accessible to non-anglophones figured that a game was much more fun, quicker, and cheaper than paying people to translate it or wasting our time with “Captcha” (Yup! Those annoying pop-ups that verify if you’re human- which led to a newer version called “reCaptcha”).

Turkish was the easiest language I learned because there were Turkish people everywhere on the internet and they tend to love small talk (although I don’t) and there is a small Turkish community around where I live. That was back in like 2016. I still speak it sometimes. Now I’m learning Punjabi. I also get compliments on my accent in every language. I always tell people that it’s because I try my best to mimic native speakers, not only by the sounds they make but also facial/body language expressions.

@@anayamiss6331 well to be honest with you,as a native Turkish,i hate about %95 of the turkish dramas so i am pretty picky about them. Here is a few that i like: Leyla ile macnun: an awesome absurd comedy series. i havent seen anything like this in my life its so unique and funny gibi:yeah gotta accept the fact that turks are kinda good at comedy so yeah thats also a weird absurd sitcom yargı: a drama that is centered around crime, murder and prosecution. unlike the other ones, this one hasnt ended yet. avlu:again a really cool drama about crime and murder but this is from the standpoint of the guilty. mainly centered around the atrocities in the prisons. additionally i would like to point out that the comedy ones i have mentioned can require a bit more proficiency in terms of your language skills and the knowlegde you have about turkish culture. Consider that before making a decision. Nevertheless i can assure you that every single one of these series are 100 times better than aşk 101.

Polyglot cardinal sin 🤣🤣🤣 I guess you could say Turkish is a lot more intriguing to me since I have nothing to compare it to, whereas with PT I was constantly building off of Spanish.

Nice thumbnail this time. I don't believe that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder", in this way anything could be beautiful... Anyway, good video, u're underrated.

Series suggestions which you can watch when you improve your Turkish a bit more: Kulüp (This is the one which you can connect most, it tells the story of Turkish Jews and other minorities during 50’s), Pera Palas’ta Gece Yarısı, Bir Başkadır( this can be boring for a foreigner but if you wanna dive deep into learning the cultural separations in turkey, it is beneficial)
