This sounds like my story. My long distance partner left all the great women in the US and looked for me in South Africa. And I always ask him why? Why all that effort and those expenses travelling every 3 months to see me in my country while he could easily get someone in his country and enjoy the convenience. And his answer is always “coz I want YOU! I prefer you. You’re worth all the effort and expenses”. I’ve also never had a problem with long distance relationships. Infact I’ve only ever dated guys outside my city and I coped just fine. Even with this one I’m doing ok, I don’t feel any disdain for it. I actually enjoy it🙈 I agree with all the tips! Btw, we “met”, or rather, he found me on KZbin🥰

Thank you for this Sha, please could you do another video explaining more on ways to set these physical boundaries ?
@sharonnwosu8901Ай бұрын
Hi dear! It’s basically telling them you don’t want to be intimate till after marriage. This could look like not sleeping over at each other’s houses or not on the same bed etc. Avoiding conversations that gets you thinking about things you shouldn’t be thinking of 🤣🤎; coz once you see them after that distance, you’d want to do them. It really differs for each individual as there are things one may struggle with but it’s not an issue for someone else x

@ ugh I laugh in my singleness for asking this question 😄 thanks for taking out time to reply, we look forward to you bringing back the KZbin ministry ❤️.

Thank you Sharon. This was highly needed. Would you advise a woman in a long distance relationship to visit the guy first especially when she hasn't even been introduced virtually to the guy's friends or relatives and vice versa?

I am in a long distance relationship and my partner and i do all these but the only issue we have is arguments. We dont argue often and when we do we misunderstand each other. He is currently running a master's degree in the uk and he is always stressed out. I feel like he doesn't understand me and he feels i don't understand him. He asked for space after our last argument and i am devastated. I feel so guilty for starting it in the first place. I dont want to keep nagging him. I am willing to change. I've asked the Holy Spirit to help me be a better person. Pls what do i do. I feel so helpless right now. He has never been this angry😢
@leahluvvanderson3131Ай бұрын
Let me say that arguments or disagreements in relationships and particularly in long distance relationships are to be expected. The key is that those disagreements have the potential to bring you two closer if you both are openly communicating together about your feelings and thoughts. It’s important that the both of you are self aware enough to consider the other person perspective and try to understand them better. Secondly, you will need to give him space to allow him to process his own emotions. Now, I will say that taking some space to gather yourself is okay, but he should be putting in effort to assure you that he is committed to the success of the relationship, but he simply just needs to gather his thoughts which is perfectly okay. I will caution you that taking too much space can be a sign of avoidance behavior and that kind of behavior is really not helpful in any relationship but especially long distance relationship. Don’t blame yourself for his behavior because it’s not your fault that he is angry. His anger is misplaced onto you which is not fair to you. When he comes back, I would calmly explain to him why this behavior is not okay and why it hurts you and the relationship. Lastly, it’s important to recognize what part you have to play in any conflict. No one is perfect and if your choose your partner and he choose you, you both are aware of each other imperfections but you still are committed to each other. It’s good to be self aware of not wanting to nag him but it’s okay to tell your partner hi you are feeling. As mentioned before, as uncomfortable as it can be, some disagreements can actually lead you both to understanding each other more. You both need to be willing to change for each other. It cannot just be one person who is invested. The reality is that life never stops. We will always be busy, but we have to learn how to prioritize what is important. If he really values the relationship, he will be open to what’s on your heart and try to make a change. When a man loves you, all he wants from you is to be happy that’s it. Hope this helps.
