Thank you for talking about this issue. My father was a member of a satanic cult and he sold me to the cult for use in their rituals. This is so pervasive and common. It happens everywhere, every day. At 3 years old I was made to believe that I murdered a woman, and I was programmed to hurt other children. I drew pictures of naked women with pentagrams at school in first and second grade. I have had very fragile mental health all my life. No one ever tried to intervene on my behalf. No one recognized the signs. Only Jesus rescued me by giving me dissociation. I'm in therapy now, and I'm slowly getting healed. I'm 52, and just started therapy this year. I tried to tell people, but no one believed me because my dad was an evangelical elder in our church. He ran a ministry with a very large and popular well known college campus Christian ministry and so many teenagers were part of this ministry. I dont know if he abused others. But my abuse was so horrific that I have dissociated my whole life. I am disabled due to dissociation and chronic pain and illness which is also related to my abuse. My life has been wrecked by this.

You probably need to seek a good deliverance ministry. I am a survivor of human trafficking and the things that we go through need to be addressed with deliverance and renouncing! We have to forgive those who abused us as well. Only through the blood of Christ can we truly be free! Tormenting spirits must be cast out! We cannot be possessed by demons but we can definitely be oppressed! Physical manifestations are proof we need deliverance!

This really speaks to me as an abused child. I was never safe in my home from my dad and siblings. It's not like what is being described here to the point of sacrificing children, but i took physical and mental abuse from birth to age 54. It has taken me more than a decade to come to understand who I am. I was always being told and the picture of me from their perspective I was only worth victimization nothing more. I abused myself by exhausting and humiliating myself trying to please others and being good enough but I always ended up the victim. I finally hit bottom and the Lord Jesus was able to start undoing the wrong beliefs in me and give me his truth about my value to him. I have only just started feeling like a confident, independent adult at 65. That abuse destroyed my health and my entire path of life until this past decade when I finally gave it all to the Lord and let him lead me into truth.

Yes, to some degree. I had a lot of bitterness and resentment but Jesus took me through a great deal of healing, and I believe deliverance. I was in a ministry that had a strong focus on deliverance. I was set free of a lot of bondage. We were dealing with manifestations and all kinds of spiritual junk that was disturbing but the freer I became, those things fell away. I'm not really sure if everything was broken off. This has been my best life so far, but serving the Lord as we do, my husband and I are always going through some kind of trial.

I was sexually abused by an orchestra teacher all 4 years in high school, and my father was an abusive narcissist. I still have not healed from it - I can't imagine going through SRA and how long it must take to even begin to heal. Melissa, did you really not take your evidence of sexual abuse of children to the police? I am young, how sweet you are, I was in my twenties when the original Satanic Panic occurred not one case was verified of organizational SRA happening. Good old fashioned abuse is everywhere throughout history and after the Satanic Panic was seen for what it was...hysteria and false memory recovery, was a 20th Century witch hunt not unlike Salem where 19 people were killed. The media who blew this out of any proportion did inspire sick individuals to add 'satanic rites' role play to occur years after the insanity had ended and people use them as evidence that the Satanic Panic was true. Then you have the so-called victims, attention seekers, who benefit in many ways. My experience of abused people is that they do not do podcasts for the vicarious thrills of the watcher. Do you need to go to the trouble of a satanic ritual to rape a child, I think not. People who rape children rape children. You need to learn more, start with the McMartin preschool case, learn some truth stop the hysterical conspiracy theories and take a reality check. I went through ritual abuse between age 4-6 year old although it wasn't "satanic" per say, but I rarely talk about it since, whether by accident or design, so many false claims were made that it makes people who actually went through such things reluctant to actually talk about it. There has been nothing but emptiness and separation from God since then and no matter what I do I still seem to be one of the fallen.

The False Memory Syndrome organization became very powerful in the mid to late 80’s, when many children and young adults were reporting having been a victim of SRA. They had a lot of resources ($$) along with the power, and set about closing down many trauma institutes which were treating these survivors. As a result, many survivors simply had no other place to turn for help and a certain level of safety. It is very sad. I met several SRA survivors while being treated myself for early-childhood trauma. Most had to change their names and phone numbers frequently. The hardest thing was that their families would never leave them alone, still stalking and taunting them for many years after. And yes, it is very much more prevalent than most people can, and/or WANT to believe. Ignorance is not bliss, it is simply ignorance. Thank you to all who speak out, and to all who validate these suffering individuals. You are seen. You are heard. Mostly, you are believed.

I can't speak from personal experience but I have talked to survivors and read some testimony. One of the signs of abuse is large gaps in memory where it seems whole years are missing. Memory flashbacks are also common. Unexplained, severe sadness is another.

They will be self destructive and self sabotage their own lives and have no reason for it. There is no one way to tell - that's why victims under three years are chosen in the first place. The memories will be compartmentalized until about 40 years. They won't resurface until the person can cope with them. It's a self preservation function. It will appear as a mid life crisis. Usually victims drink and drug themselves to medicate unexplained mental pain. The victims have to come to it themselves. You can't "help" them do it. You can only support them when and if they do. Some victims will get the memories in mid adulthood and just bury them again. It's a soul murder where the body survives but the real person within does not. They will not be present in their own lives. It's a life sentence. It's too much damage and pain for a human being to sustain. It's possible to heal but it's at a spiritual level because as l said it's soul murder.
