You got it! I hope you've made the jump (or have made progress towards it) - I know how intimidating it can be, but the first step is always the hardest.

This was incredibly useful! Any tips for budgeting? If I am only English speaking traveling solo any safety tips? When traveling from one host family to the next, what tips can you offer for planning the transportation to the next destination? If you’re simply volunteering can you go to Italy for 3 months then Sweden for 2 months and if so how do you avoid deportation? I’ve heard volunteers don’t need visas as long as you have a passport, however if you start making money what tips do you offer for work visas?

Thank you so much! I absolutely have budgeting trips - happy to make another video on that. Anything in specific you'd like to see? And you should be okay being only English speaking! Learning basics is a general important rule of thumb, but overall, most places will be accommodating - remember that a smile can go a long way. And it'll depend on your passport - different passports have different abilities in the Schengen zone.

would you say that you should upload an application video or isnt it necessary to get accepted?

Great question! It isn't completely necessary, but it can definitely help. Certain roles are more competitive than others, and for those, I'd recommend a bit more than just the standard application!

Po zaplatení členského poplatku si musím ešte zaplatiť aj ten plán, či to je dobrovoľné? Na čo slúži? Ďakujem za predstavenie stránky.

Good question - it's just a one time membership fee for the year! From there, you're able to apply to as many opportunities as you'd like.

@@globetrottersguidebook is it possible to stay at one place longer then 6 months or a year ?
@globetrottersguidebook
@globetrottersguidebook 15 күн бұрын
@@lukasakakalishiva The maximum time through Worldpackers (the platform) is 3 months (typically), however, upon arrival, volunteers often can negotiate with the place they're working to stay longer! Remember that this won't be through Worldpackers, so you would lose their protection. But if you enjoy the job, it's worth asking! Just make sure to check local visa requirements to make sure you're able to stay.

Did you get a travel insurance? And is it mandatory?

I think the app provides insurance

Good question - travel insurance is technically optional. I know some travelers prefer the peace of mind, others are willing to risk it. Overall, it's a personal choice - different plans cover different needs and you can look into individualized plans to figure out what might work best for you. Worldpackers itself provides 'insurance' (depending on the plan you choose), should the volunteer opportunity not be what you expected. They'll help you figure out new accommodation for a certain number of nights and provide reimbursement up to it - again, check out your individual plan to see what your exact details are, as it varies.
