When you get a DEVA cut remember they are cutting your hair in its natural curly state and curls can hide split ends like a drug addict hides addiction. Don't be fooled into thinking those split ends ain't there anymore. You always need a good blowout to show you exactly where the truth lies (lmao idk if this makes sense Im just feeling poetic today lmaooo)

You're making PERFECT sense frann. When you hair is straight, you'll see the split ends better because they'll stick out

I wish you zoomed in, so many naturals are using the term split ends when they don't have that. Instead the hair ends are dry, broken, shedding, brittle or just damaged which are all different and some scenarios have room for a full recovery . Split means a single strand looks like two or more towards the end (imagine a y) and no permanent solution other than cutting above the highest split
@angelafrimpong1026

Do you know what causes the rough ends coz i don't split ends but the ends seem a bit drier

I’m sorry but please don’t characterize me based on your previous reference of a natural. I am very knowledgeable on the difference in a single strand knot and split ends. If you want a video regarding the details of both that’s fine but this was a video only showing how I trim them (as stated in the title).

There's many different ways to trim curly hair you dont have to blow the hair straight but it is definitely an option if your more comfortable..I used to think it was the only way ...I got mine trimmed on in it's natural and it feels/looks great. Did it on damp hair loaded w/ conditioner but she just dusted all my ends.. you could still do it on a blowout but keep in mind it's not for the shape only the ends so you'd have to double check by following up wash n go to make sure the shape is right

the problem I have with my hair is that all my strands are different lengths,like when I do twists I can never make them smooth. I always have a lot of ends just sticking out. I have been natural for almost a year and I don’t know if it is split ends(new or really bad ones) or just I don’t have the right products. I don’t know how to trim my hair and I’m 13 so I don’t know anyone who could do it for me. Also my mom doesn’t know that much about natural hair so idk what to do...
@curlynella1011
@curlynella1011 3 жыл бұрын
If you are using something with hold, you should be able to coil the ends and it should be smooth. But usually you need a trim when the ends aren’t acting right and especially if detangling is a nightmare. The easiest way to twin is to two strand twist the hair and cut the thinning rough ends off.

You can also get a trim on your curly hair that’s not a deva cut. They just cut the entire head curl by curl then wash and style and cut any ends they missed. I just find it counterproductive to blowout your hair (which can cause damage) to cut damaged ends. But of course, to each their own 😊

How do we feel about trimming wet twists ?.. like twisting wet and moisturized hair then going in and trimming the stringy ends ? I did this about the first 6 months of having a whole natural head of hair .. then blow dried and pretty much did this exact thing and went sooo Ham I nearly jacked up my hair on one side ( the section in the front that’s tighter and shrinks more than my looser section .. 🧐 Tryna deliberate if I should stick to trimming my twists whenever they look raggedy or this more in depth way or just mixing it up ...
