Thank you Julie! Best tutorial on Airtable by far. I have 2 questions - 1) Is there an easy way to alphabetize entries in the sentiments column? Maybe I want to peruse my list of sentiments, even though I know if I start typing, the entry I’m looking for will appear. Sometimes I just like to look! And 2) If I want to search for SHAPES such as hearts, stars, Christmas trees, etc. in my inventory, would you suggest creating a separate column? Will it search through stamps, but also punches and dies? Or do they have to be linked? Thank you!
@travelnjen2 жыл бұрын
Just getting around to logging everything but this is exactly what I've needed! Thank you! Questions: Do you add the dies on the stamps tab if they are a bundle AND list them as a bundle as well? Or just do one? I noticed when I list the dies on the stamps tab, they show up under the dies header, but when I ALSO add them to the bundle as "add a record" within the dies or stamps tab, they don't show up on the bundle tab of the stamp section. I hope that makes sense. Guess I'd like to know what works best for you?

Thank you, Julie. This looks so much easier than another program I tried. I do have a couple of question. Do I need to enter my stamps in Alphabetical order or is there a way to alphabetize them? Is there a how to video that shows how to remove something that is entered then you no longer have, such as if you sell a product? Thanks again.
@ThePaperPixie3 жыл бұрын
Hi Dianne! At the top where I shared how to filter, there is also a sorting option, so you can sort it by any field you like. I sort mine alphabetical by the stamp name - they don’t need to be entered that way. Also, when you want to delete a record, you can just select it, right-click on it and ‘delete selected record’. You can also select a few records and delete them as well. Super easy and versatile!

Thanks Julie, I just learned about this today and copied your data base to begin with. However when I get to 7:18 where you demo how to add an image I don’t get the option to search the web, only IOS Files, Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, Google Photos or One Drive. I notice this video is 1 year old, is it possible searching the web was removed? I can’t imagine why but it’s sure not an option. Thanks.

@ThePaperPixie3 жыл бұрын
Hi Sandi! When you click the link to the base I shared, you should already be logged into Airtable. Then you should see a 'copy base' button in the upper right. Then you can copy the base to your Airtable account. Once you've done that, you should be able to add data to it.

THANK YOU Julie, this is amazing! I've been working like a crazy girl getting my inventory entered in my own Airtable. I do have one question as I am confused: how do I completed a search? Meaning, if I want to locate all my stamps that have the "happy birthday" sentiment - how do I do that?

Working on transferring my current and "permastash" inventory from Evernote. I'm adding a stamp from the AC-2021 and I wanted to color code it like yours are. I get a message that that's only available in the Pro version. The fields that were already in your base are showing as color-coded so I'm not sure if I'm misunderstanding. Again, thanks for the amazing video tutorial. This will be soooo much better!

This is really cool. I've got a LOT of work to do and I can't WAIT to do it. I'm envisioning putting all of my inventory in here. Stamps, DSP, ribbons, bling, everything! Thank you so much. BUT... I have a question. It's telling me that I have 13 days left on my "free trial" even though I chose the free option. Given the amount of information I eventually want to have on here, I think I may upgrade anyway, but can we talk about the benefits of upgrading, please? If you'd like to chat offline... please let me know. THANKS AGAIN!😍
@ThePaperPixieАй бұрын
Some of the major benefits of upgrading are 50,000 records per base and 20GB of attachment space, which is really helpful with a large inventory with photos. I personally use AirTable for so many things other than inventory, so the cost is worth it to me. However, you have to ask yourself if you will do the work to add your inventory and keep it updated? There are also other options out there worth checking out like Color My Life (which I don't have any experience with) or Evernote (but it recently went to a similar pricing as Airtable).
@clcooper452Ай бұрын
@@ThePaperPixie I DL'd and looked at CML briefly and it is not something I'm going to use. It could be easy to use eventually, but right now they don't have any access to SU barcodes so everything would have to be entered by hand and you've already done most of that for us with your template. I've already synced my current Google sheet to my copy of yours and I'm in love.

Thank you for a great tutorial. One question though: If you have a really old stamp, say a wood mount, how do you find the price for them?
@ThePaperPixie3 жыл бұрын
Great question! It can be difficult to find, but if you happen to know the year of the stamp (it used to be printed on the wood block label), you can search for catalogs from around that time! What do I need to do to see the stamps I added in the gallery view?

Hi Ornetta! I just checked my template and it looks like there's a filter applied to the Stamp Gallery. So, up in the top bar, you should see 'Filter' highlighted in green. Click on it and hit the 'x' next to both items it's filtered on. Hope that works for you!

Julie, question for you about the images. in the free version you have only a VERY small amount of storage for attachments. There is not enough capacity to upload actual photographs. The only thing I can do is put in a URL to the photo of the image on the web. However, I don't want to SEE the URL, i want to SEE the image in my database, like you see in yours. How can i make the images show using the URL? Thanks!
@ThePaperPixie Жыл бұрын
Great question, JD! When I click the + button to add an image, then select the Link (URL) option and enter an image URL, it automatically uploads the photo. However, I am on a paid plan. When you enter the URL, does the image not populate for you? I just set up a free account to test it, but I'm stuck in the 14-day Pro trial and can't figure out how to turn it off before the end of the trial - LOL.
