Hi Frenzzz! This is the first video edited by my new crew, and although there are still some changes that I wish were made, I decided to upload it because perfection is the enemy of good. And I know that these edits will improve, but I need to stop being so picky. Because what I see as meh, might be fine to someone else. Let me know what you think, and we'll chat down below!

I haven't noticed tbh 😊. But I listened to you in the background rather than watched. I only looked at the screen from time to time. When listening to you, I haven't noticed a difference at all. 😊

I would love more videos like this, showing how to use products that many of us have purchased recently, but not using much because we are too busy chasing and lusting over endless new releases. Thank you Alicia ❤

What a wonderful video! It's exceptionally rare to see a makeup video without use of foundation. I've been using my Hourglass palette without foundation ... all the while nagging myself that I was being lazy. No more! Plus, you gave me new ideas for how to use it. Thank you! As to the quality of the video with your new editor, I saw absolutely nothing that made me think "there's something different here in the style of this video." ... and I am, by nature, a detail-oriented person. I was 100% engrossed in the subject. To me, the style was spot on for an "Alicia video." Great job on all aspects!

I totally agree on the versatility of the palettes and how they can be under-utilized! I love using the finishing powders as step 1 in my eyeshadow routine to set the base, it helps mattes blend more flawlessly and has a subtle glow under my brow arch (as i don't prefer anything too shimmery there). I also don't wear highlighter so I use the glow powders for my inner corner!

I have two Hourglass palettes (Sculpture and Elephant), so I skipped last year and this year. Since I rarely wear foundation, I usually use these powders on bare skin and I feel like it make a diference with out looking made up.

Hello :) Alicia, I agree with you about skincare to some extent. Honestly, I was a skincare minimalist and the person who used two products for my face and one for my body. But everything changed after I moved 1000+km from my home to a completely different climate. My skin, hair, everything is thirsty! I need to use so many products to feel comfortable in my own skin. The funny thing is that when I return home, I don't need to use anything for 10 days .😅

Sometimes I get mad at myself that I can’t seem to minimize my skincare as much as I’d like. Then I remember I live on the dirt prairie & I’m post menopausal. My skin doesn’t feel flaky & dry on the surface, but I can often pack in the whole Korean skin routine plus 4-5 heavy creams mixed with oil! But when I do get myself consistently hydrated, my skin behaves pretty well. I look older than I am due to illness & weight loss, and because I look like I might qualify for a discount, I have not enjoyed public interactions much lately. But my lengthy routine makes me look healthier at least and most importantly, feels good to my skin
@petrapausic4190Ай бұрын
@@standdownrobots_ihaveoldglory I undrestand. My skin and hair also did not stayed the same after I got ill (quite badly) - that happend after the moving soit was one big change after another. Now I have that long skincare routine but I got used to it, it is like a calming ritual now... Do whatever makes you feel better ❤️

What a creative video! The idea of applying the powders on bare or skin-tinted skin is so appealing to me, as I've embraced the "less is more" idea for foundation. I was always puzzled as to what these Hourglass powders were for/which ones can go where, until I watched this--your artistry opened my mind. And the demos show beautiful results!

I really like HG finishing powders. I don't always wear foundation, often just my spf & spot concealer. I mainly use cream & liquid complexion cosmetics & the HG powders are a perfect "set & blend" option for me.

This is a very thoughtful video as I wouldn’t even think to use without foundation. I have all of last years and only got the medium one for this year. Thinking I need the other two 😊

I really appreciate this video! I bought the holiday pallet last year and never used it… Im going to get it out again and try this… On another note about skincare… I totally agree that we overuse products! They are definitely not necessary! I also have been doing a lot of research on metabolic health over the last year and acne has been scientifically linked to metabolic disfunction… meaning insulin resistance and sensitivity… I have pretty much cut out all sugars and almost all carbohydrates and have definitely seen a drastic difference in my skin.. no acne, less discoloration and overall better health!! 🙌

Skincare: I'm a bit of a minimalist. Gentle cleanser, just use water in the morning, basic moisturizer. I do use a couple actives for my rosacea. They work better than my Rx cream for preventing flareups & mediating the redness. I only use spf when im going to be outside in direct sunlight. My house has uv filtered windows 😊
@tealsbrownsandgreensАй бұрын
Great video Alicia. As always 😊. I stopped using foundations/tints couple of years ago. As long as you have a great blurring powder there is no need for any foundation. But I understand it may not be for everyone. I'd encourage everyone to do it as a fun challenge and try it as an experiment.
@CicelyizeАй бұрын
I do exactly the same thing with the hourglass palettes. Use on the whole face and key is the light blush under the eyes centre face and draping with little or no base- so fresh and youthful. Love that traslucent red lippie on you!

The Evil Eye was my first Hourglass purchase.... then after your first video, went back for the Lotus and later the dragon because I'm your skin twin (maybe a bit more tan) but saw that it was not too light and probably more daily friendly than lotus. Love your content & how you have demo'd the use of these 3 palattes. I got a sample of the ysl primer and have been using them with that over moisturizer and I really like it. I also tried them with the Milk hydro primer. I'm waiting for the sephora sale to pick up a primer. I'm also curious about trying the prada primer/powder after those reviews of yours. HG perform well on top of danessa blurring balm #7 and will try with 6 soon. Lol the heat gets turned up quick with Danessa blurring balm 7 and HG lotus on a light/medium skin tone 😂

Hi beauty--I am loving Makeup Forever Glow Foundation--definately skin tint-ish. I will one day try LE Skin Tint--I enjoy Skin Tints--however one I absolutely did NOT like was DM "Yummy Skin" dried me out and was itchy and was hard to spread! I hope you like it--mine went in the garbage--I was in work and had a "I NEED TO GET THIS OFF MY FACE"-washed my face w/ handsoap that's how desperate I was to get it off! ahhhh. I wanna try Glamorly skin system--ingedients look great w/ the microneedle unit to get in under the epidermis! I got the Moisture Glaze from SUQQU and definitely these are my jam! I love-got 4 off Cult Beauty on sale. love love LOVE
@aliciaarcherАй бұрын
I like the Yummy Skin so far, but perhaps the ingredients that made it “serum” like didn’t fair well with your skin. I’ve been combining mine, and will need to try a sample of the MUFE!

The Dragon palette is one of my favourite purchases this year (along with Byredo Mineral Scapes and ND I Need a Nude). I do have to be careful with the bronzer or it makes my face look dirty, so I usually have to bounce my sponge over it to tone it down. This was also my first hourglass powder(s) so I didn't have any already
@ratgirl1328 күн бұрын
I use dove to wash my face and then Aveeno unscented lotion to moisturize and that is it-and the Neutrogena makeup remover wipes; minimal and affordable and easy to do daily. The hourglass powders are tempting to buy and you did a great job applying them to your face.💙 The second look is my favorite, gives you that cute kewpie doll look-and it’s the application that I would employ if I bought the Evil Eye palette.

Last palette I bought from hourglass was back in 2021. I think it was the Universal Edit palette? I wasn’t interested in any of their palettes up until this year. Because this year I bought the evil eye and Barney’s III. I love them both so much!

Thank you Alicia for this great video ! I swatched the Evil eye palette at Ulta and it had glitter in it. Now it could be from a previous person who stained it , or is there glitter or shimmer in these powders?

The only one that has larger particles of pearl is the nude like blush. I wouldn’t classify it as glitter, but they do have sheen to them.

Lisa Eldridge skin tint- I have T10,11,12 I can wear 10 and 12 but 11 looks weird. I think 12 will be too dark for you going into the winter- but it does mix well with 10. I usually am a shade or 2 darker than you and 12 is better for me in the summer.
@aliciaarcherАй бұрын
I was tossing between those shades as well. Right now I mix Lisa’s Tint with Danessa’s to adjust the color a bit. A deeper dive with comparisons is coming soon!
