This again, is such wonderful truth. ❤.I came back to Tarot after about 12 years... of just life. It was wonderful, especially in the beginning when I discovered Tarotube and some of the resources that didn't exist back in the day. Then Covid hit us all, then consumer FOMO got me, then guilt about a growing collection I KNEW I wasn't going to use. Finally again I'm doing this with care and discernment. Thank you Mary Grace. You have NO idea what a breath of fresh air you have been to me and my personal practice. 🙌 So glad you're back! ❤️

Thank for that!!!! ❤❤❤❤ and the stories are real… oh also on my break I made my version of the soul card deck!… that was such an experience “big thanks” As always thanks for posting!

What you said about neurodivergent brains understanding feelings is interesting. I think that's what I find fascinating as well. For anybody that doesn't 'get' the nuance of human emotional experience, it's such a good teacher.

Grace, this is a wonderful video. Thank you for sharing your journey. Mine has been similar - had my first reading in 1982, reading for myself since 1990, started out with Thoth and it's still my to-go, like RWS for you. I love your practice, and you have inspired me with your folk magic, saint work, I love it all and find it inspiring. Tarotube is a wellspring of wisdom. So many different voices, a forest of souls, and your voice and soul are important.

Great video! This was fun to listen to.💜 I definitely agree! 👏 I started using Tarot when I was 17 and I am 36 now. I've read for friends and family but I have only felt ready to read for others for £ in the last few years. I still don't offer readings thought because time! having two little ones and a job I just don't have the time right now but I def want to read for people.

“Impending doom”… this feeling is the name I give to things I know in my bones for whatever reason. My whole life. I think it’s “spirit”. Like a relationship that won’t work and needs to end because I’m not going to marry this person. Or better example: I saw a cheap beer box in the bushes on a college visit and knew I needed to go to that college. Wasn’t a partier or a big drinker. Just knew. Couldn’t tell you why at 17. Got pregnant at 20 at college and have my wonderful son.I’ve only recently begun to understand that “impending doom feeling”. It’s not even doom. It’s like a foreshadow. Idk what other name to give it or how to identify who or where it comes from. But… as someone who has anxiety and a husband who have anxiety… we love the term “garden variety anxiety” to describe the every day jitters over nothing!!!! I usually can identify mine, I’m not neurodivergent, but my husband has more difficulty identifying where his feelings come from or why. He does have a pretty neurodiverse family….Wondering if reading for him would help? I never thought to really offer tarot as a way to help as a spouse… bc I don’t think I’m professional level or anything. But… I think I’ll give it a try!

I've only been able to watch halfway so far, but I wanted to comment before I have to step away and inevitably forget. I really appreciate that you're sharing how you actually work with the cards. This is the interesting stuff that Tarot has to offer! I was fortunate enough to start reading Tarot before Tarot KZbin really existed, so the only way I knew to approach the subject was to personally engage with the cards. It was definitely a much slower process, but without all of the noise I had space to go really deep. The first thing I say when people are learning the cards is to stay far away from social media and just engage with the cards in front of you. I also have to laugh at cards being the OG fidget toy. When I learned to riffle shuffle as a kid I carried a pack of playing cards with me everywhere and shuffled them constantly. I also remember my mom always had a deck on her so she could shuffle or play solitaire. Probably where my love of cards came, now that I think of it.

Helllllllo 😊 I always enjoy watching & learning from you. Its interesting to see how ones practice transforms & is solidified over years of reading- seeing how one grows but still maintaining a source of origin. As years go by from when I started reading, I remember how the old ways were just the ways for me. Lol! Now I hope to be helpful & resourceful too. Stay well, my friend!🌻

Thank you G. That was just one example. I agree that reading for others isn't for everyone. It isn't always for me either. I go through cycles of reading for others and then taking a break. In all things, magic and divination, I prefer to teach others to do it for themselves. Much love xoxo

Love hearing you sharing your knowledge Grace ❤ I am studying for 3 years now and feel I can study for years and years to come. My biggest blockage with the cards is to shut down my mind and trust my intuition. And I am really uncomfortable reading for others when they ask me because I am afraid that I do not see the answers to their question. But because of this I do not practice enough to learn. I started slowly now for friends and family, not face to face, so I can meditate first and concentrate for some time on their question, and then read the cards, and taking the time I need for that, and talk about this with them afterwards. And although I accumulated some decks in these years I still use the same one cause I am not done learning and getting to know it.

This was a great video Grace! I find a lot of the tarot information out there right now very spiritual focused... which can be great at times, but sometimes it feels to grandiose and I don't know what to do with it. I learned from recent books... and I find it difficult to know how to use tarot to answer practical questions (will I get the job, when will I hear about X, etc).... I need to work on that somehow! Looking forward to hearing more about how you use tarot! Thanks for sharing :)

This video was gold, it reaffirmed what I think about Tarot. Watching people who pull so many cards and do spreads on the regular and track and journal and they seem to do it all with a new deck every time, and…and… and… its just for show isn’t it. I am much more aligned with this understanding. Less is more, deep is deep. Thank you, I have really enjoyed this much anticipated video. Quick question (but probably long answer). What are your thoughts on distant reading and reiki….

Thank you for watching and thank you for sharing in the comments. Like any skill, it takes time and practice to learn and it is best learned when you have the right tools for you. When we work with the same tools, over time they become an extension of ourselves.

The people closest to us are the toughest to read/divine for. That's how we hone our skill at setting aside biases and how we learn to transmit the message as it comes through -without our opinions and interpretation. This will make you a strong reader!

You yourself have called the more traditional decks like RWS or the Thoth 'occult' decks in one of your past videos, probably as in decks created by secret societies like Golden Dawn and based on extensive knowledge about astrology, alchemy, the Kabbala and what have you. At least that is how I understood the term 'occult' in this context. The term has stuck with me ever since. Like: is this one an occult deck or what? 🤔 😂 It has kept me from needlessly bying more modern clones on several occasions now. 🤑😘
@MaryGraceFahrun Жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and commenting. I call RWS and Thoth occult decks, you are absolutely right. I was wondering what they are called by everyone else in this "tuber-sphere".😁 ETA: I'm glad it is helping you avoid needless spending. 🤗
