Captain Mat, thank you for sharing and teaching us, the younger worm generation. I have been watching, learning and practicing your methods over the last few months and my worm population is thriving!!!! I've just built my 1st bulk bin, my breeder buckets are prepped and I'm very excited. I still have a way to go but I'm super excited and without your channel I probably would not have had such good progress or enthusiasm. So, all the way from South Africa, thank you sir!! 🇿🇦 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦

Hey Captain, you are a blessing, to not only your Family , but the world. Thank you I just kinda stumbled on to your channel. I'm in the construction biussness. And in doing that I have found myself in the a whole bunch. Mr Father pasted in 2019, found memories of fishing and baiting that hook. The best part was walking into the bait store and going over the fridge and getting that little coverd cubs of worms, and the the candy ile, and the soda ile. I would like to start a little something as I am the just 60 . Thank you for your willingness to share your blessings of wisdom to the world. God blessing to you Sir and your Family.

This is a big help. We are just getting started. This is such an important skill set to learn because the food we eat from the stores has lost the nutrients because of chemical fertilizer and pesticides that kill all the living organisms and enzymes we need to grow healthy food. With the coming food shortage, every family needs to learn to grow healthy foods indoors hydroponics. We make a tea from the castings and feed the plants. Kratky is a way to grow hydroponics without electricity. They will start rationing electric like they do now in Puertorico. Their goal is to reduce the world population by 50% by 2025. So we all need to take responsibility and feed our families and help others as you are doing. Thnx friend, God bless. Proverbs 10:22, Deuteronomy 8:18 and 3 John 1:2…prosper and be in health…

Do you add the cocoons to the CFT system after sifting them out? If not, what do you do with them?
@ไส้เดือนเพื่อชีวิต
@ไส้เดือนเพื่อชีวิต 2 жыл бұрын
Captain Matt putts the cocoons and undigested bedding into his big CFT's. In the CFT's the cocoons hatch and grow into bigger worms making castings as they do it. It is possible to put the cocoons into more buckets or a nursery to hatch and then as long as he harvests castings and separates the worms before new cocoons hatch, well then, he would have sized worms with a known age (there are worm wranglers that know the age of 99% of their worms). With this method of growing worms, it is very easy to outgrow the space used to grow the worms in. So, when these advanced methods are used space management is the most important thing to master. Growing worms in buckets allows a worm wrangler to have predictable outcomes that are very accurate when it comes to casting and worm production. Captain Matt does it more for the casting production hence the big CFT's. Either way it's all good. Have a great Day!

I am like you, in that I think buckets are easier to manage than trays. Trays are also expensive, while buckets are free.

Is your garage heated? I am up in Ontario Canada and I would like to extend my worm farm and use my garage. Is your CFT boxes keep your worms warm enough without heat in winter months?
