Thank you for sharing your story. I have a rare cancer that is underfunded, so I appreciate your efforts to help raise funds for helping people with brain tumors. I will be making a donation later today. Thank you for sharing.

I am so sorry to learn of your challenge, Brandi Duff. Yes, I understand the "underfunding," as most rare cancers are woefully neglected. My thoughts for your strength to endure your challenges, as I can only imagine what you deal with. Thank you so much for sharing your story, as well, and for considering a donation. God bless! :)

I’m so happy you chose art instead of the breaking bad route 😳. Funny aside, my mom had brain cancer when I was 13. She survived the surgery, chemo and radiation that followed, but she was never the same. I feel like I lost my mom at 13, and it was especially hard as an only child in a single parent home. My mom is still alive and kicking, in complete remission for 36 years. But because of the massive doses of chemo and radiation they gave patients in the early 1980’s, my mom has early onset dementia at the age of 67. I feel like I’ve lost my mom all over again. So this cause is dear to my heart as well. Thanks Mark.

Thank you for sharing yours and your mom's story, Christina Todd. I am so incredibly sorry to hear about the dementia, as I've witnessed Alzheimer's up close and it's devastating. 67 is far too young to be going through that. I understand your story from a different angle, as I was a single father at the time, raising my two children (something I don't discuss very often). When I got laid off, I thought it was the most horrible thing that could have happened to me. But, then came the brain tumor... it was such a hard time for me and my kids, but I look at them now and they are wonderful young people whom I am so proud of. I'm am most assured your mom felt the same way back then, and in her heart feels the same way now about you. I'm sure of it. That part never goes away and no matter what happens in our lives, we've always got that love in our hearts to keep us connected. xoxo ~ Mark

Mark, you are a massive inspiration both as an artist & a human bean 🙏🏼 🤗 👍 Donated around 4 mins into video then watched to end & realised your Brain Tumour fundraiser walk was 20th… 5 days ago now (in Australia). Hope my $ still make it to the kitty. Lost a friend to the bastard tumours which left a gaping hole in a beautiful family. Sad indeed.

Congrats on 7 years healthy!! 💖 My father struggles with Chronic Lucosyte Leukemia because of agent orange. He also has dementia. Every year I do a fund raiser for leukemia research on my birthday thanks to Facebook. So far I've raised just over $200..it's not much, but it's something! Lol I'm hoping one day they find a cure for all this! Keep on keeping on, Mark! You're an inspiration to me and always will be! 💖 Thanks for sharing your story 😊🙏

Thank you, so much! Your dad is likely a veteran, I assume, and I'm humbled and grateful for his service. I was just explaining Agent Orange to my son, recently, playing the R.E.M. song, "Orange Crush" while we talked about it. My son embarks into the US Army in just two weeks and I'm having a tough time with him departing (don't tell him that, though! lol!). I can't imagine the challenges you and your family endure with your dad. I can only pray for strength for you all that you are able to endure it. I'm amazed at how we all have our stories, but until someone mentions it, they are kept silent and are a weight we carry alone. That's one of the great benefits of posting this video - that people are kind enough to share their story. And there are so many! Thank you for sharing yours. The inspiration goes both ways, for sure! Take care! xo ~ Mark

@@MDCampbell oh no... I'm blessed that neither of my sons joined the military. I can only imagine your fears right now. Yes, my father was in Vietnam and as a pilot so he was around it alot. Tell your son to be safe, keep his butt down and that we are all praying for him and those he serves with. Please keep us informed as to how he's doing, don't carry that alone. 🤟

Thank you for using your platform and your talents to raise money and awareness. My spouse had an orange sized brain tumor removed 2 years ago and is finishing his last round of chemo. Despite how ubiquitous cancer seems to be, my spouse's cancer is rare; there isn't a lot of research or data in treatments that are effective. Your fundraising and the work you do helps the community. I hope that your scans continue to be stable so that you can focus on the things that are most important to you.
@MDCampbell5 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much, Cai Fasse! The rare one's are obviously the more concerning one's. I hope your spouse's situation is going well and that the chemo will be done for good. You must have an amazing resource of strength to go through it all with your spouse. I do think it can be harder on the caretaker than the patient, sometimes. Stay well and thank you! :)

Hi Mark! I remember you talking about your brain tumor but I don't remember hearing about donations. So I just donated a small amount. I know that any amount helps. 20 years ago, when I was 50, I joined the Leukemia Society Team in Training and walked a marathon to collect donations for that charity. What a great experience that was. I haven't walked that much since though. LOL. I wish you well and hope that every one of your subscribers donates at least a dollar or two. I am so glad you are well and doing this KZbin thing. I've learned a lot from you. Thank you.

It's safe to say that I'M the one who is humbled, Nan Schifris. Words can't convey my gratitude and thanks for not only the incredible contribution, but for your general support, overall. I'm so proud to talk about this charity and the event, and when people ask, "how do you raise money," I tell them about KZbin and the wonderful community of people who respond. It's why I don't want to ask for money to support "me," as I'd rather focus that support on people who really need it. One of the other people who donated recently lost her husband last year, leaving her and her daughters to survive him. I walked for them last year, and twist to the story is that she and I went to high school together, and it meant so much to be able to just acknowledge her family and their loss. People who know, understand how these kinds of afflictions can affect not just a person, but everyone around them. So, yes, I think it's safe to say that I'M the one who is humbled by your kindness and generosity. Thank you so much and God bless! xoxo ~ Mark
