The Famous Mr Google Maps Of Rwanda,funnny interesting guy
I decided to explore more of Kigali city and have a few conversations with the locals here in Rwanda ,and to be honest these guys med up my day, hahahaha!!!!! When you travel to another country, it's always such a thrill to go and interact with different people unlike anywhere else.

Starting with Kenya. That walkway would have been swarming with street traders, cheap goods laid out all over the sidewalks, leaving pedestrians hardly any room to walk. And tonnes of trash thereafter.

@Solo Kinyarwanda, English, & French are the most widely spoken languages. In that order.

@Solo yes it's kinyarwanda, English and French in that order. even if you'll find more people speaking English than french, most aren't very fluent and you'll never miss a french speaker around. also, french is very deep rooted and even people who don't speak french can easily understand you when you say words like "Deux cents" etc. Kiswahili is only an official language because Rwanda is part of the EAC and it's more spoken at Tanzania and DRC border towns.

@@jaybloomfield5082 most of african countries have dozens of languages if not hundreds like Congo. Although the switch to english was just to choose a new western reference, it is not really used as you declaring it as official is not enough to promote it in an everyday life. The fact that France was implicated in the war around 1994 might no be stranger to the official decision to switch for english after that.

How come the area looked so deserted, what day of the week was it? That photographer was as serious as Rwandan men come. I believe he said "Kama unajua Kiswahili, c'est bon" - (if you know Swahili that's good).

I remember a Portageie...I can't spell.. guy that took me from Hamilton Ontario 🇨🇦 to Niagara Falls in 17 minutes. It usually takes a hour. On a motorcycle! The ride back was mellow. I insisted!🤗🇨🇦🥓🤭

Piero is an italian name, no french.

It is written Pierrot in french. Peter, Pietra, Piero... all comes from the greek « petros » meaning a stone. Pierre is more common in french and also means a stone.

I guess he meant to say Pierre, but his native language influence (Kinyarwanda) twisted the last syllable to end in a vowel sound "O."

That's how the locals pronounce it. The K is voiced in the same way as the "CH" in charity. Same goes for Kampala.
