Question/Request: At some point this year you were learning about the legends of powerlifting; their names, historic feats of strength, different types of lifts, etc. Well today I was looking over the powerlifting world record total holders and noticed Thor is ranked 16th of all time at a total of 2425 which he accomplished at his own meet. Would you ever consider entering into a powerlifting meet or at least do a series or singular video showing us where your total would be at for those three lifts? I think it would make for a very interesting off season series to train while not competing in strongman. I also believe it would work great in conjunction with the body building arc you’re current on. Much respect. Lift heavy and be kind. 👊

@grantarneil8142Ай бұрын
Weight through your heels at lockout is only appropriate if hitching is allowed. If its not and you have literally any quads, then you will receive a no lift from the bar coming into contact with your quads at lockout. Push keep your weight through the front of your feet at lockout to avoid the need for hitching and to result in a smoother lockout.

@connorfraser1278Ай бұрын
I have no doubt that you will be able to hit 505 kg in your career, whether its 2025 or later. This is in spite of maintaining a weight of 320-330 lbs... Eddie Hall was 435 pounds and Thor was 450 pounds during their 500/501 kg pulls. That being said, I have a hard time ever seeing you do what is "necessary" to surpass Thor on the deadlift in a head to head competition. I believe Thor is capable of pulling 520 kg. While maintaining your bodyweight, i have a hard time seeing you surpass 510 kg. Regardless, the deadlift record is not particularly close to the true human potential as of right now. I believe we will see someone who has little concern for their body at some point pull 540 kg.
@kingofcoolАй бұрын
Agreed, I think the reason Eddie's DL is so iconic other than being first, is that he literally gave his whole life over to breaking the record without regard for his safety. If you imagine someone with naturally better levers and taller to be able to carry more mass with the same mentality as Eddie then the deadlift could even hit 550kg. Mitch is a freak but mass moves mass and like you said he'll struggle to get anything over 510-20kg.
@ninjadudeofficialАй бұрын
I wouldn't be surprised if Mitch ends up coming out a little heavier than he is rn, if only 5-10lbs. I know he wants to get a little leaner but that won't be as high a priority in peaking and he's already pretty lean, so if he does put much more muscle on I just can't see him maintaining that weight

@bulletproof1581Ай бұрын
Hey Mitchell I have some advice that is going to help your deadlift out massively, something that you aren't seeming to realise is that you have very weak glutes compared to your leg drive, if you go and re watch any of your deadlift training, you will see that your butt shoots up way too high and you end up having to slow down your leg drive, then you back hinge the rest of the deadlift, as you know this crazy leg drive strength means you don't have to work on leg drive, but this crazy back hinge strength means you don't have to work on back strength like you think you do, and also your glutes need to become their strongest so you can prevent your butt from shooting high, this way you can use maximum leg drive which will shoot your deadlift through the roof. If you see this comment then I hope this helps you out allot 🙂
@TheravadinbutoАй бұрын
I tend to agree that glute strength is often overlooked. I naturally had high quad strength, and over a lifetime that led to knee damage from the tension that quad based lifting puts on the knee. I’ve now retrained to batter balance my effort between glutes and quads, and am seeing major recovery in my knees.
