As over a 5 year ninja player this is one of the best if not the best basic guide I have seen yet, it goes over the basics and and the reasoning behind ninja play style rather than commanding the viewer. This is totally the complete package guide! I love how your approach on combo which is absolutely right. Memorizing fixed combo wont help you in the situation. Instead, learning proper combo when other skill are on cooldown is masterpiece. New subs!

Amazing guide! Love the "ninja mindset" approach you took. It's something most starting ninjas struggle with (as a returning ninja i can tell :D). Pause the video at 0:16 for my addons, and 0:17 for my gear/crystals. But you should keep in mind that I haven't pvp'd on my main since December 2020. This year I have just been playing seasonal servers which caps at 250 AP 309 DP. So the build that I had may or may not be outdated on the main servers in 2022 with its much higher ap/dp caps.

@@IntTuition just a tl;dr for awakening • you can cancel shadow stomp out of fatal blow and heart aiming now • shadow clone is seperated from shadow stomp now, only works with hotbar -> I didn't figure out how to cancel it yet... I don't think its possible to cancel the animation..? (well malice still works to cancel the ending animation but making the starting animation quicker is.. uh... idk, I can't do it) • serpent only one wave again, fps drop bug got fixed (mostly, it still happens a sometimes, though it is not as bad as it used to be) • drastic measure is complete super armor now, bound was changed to pve only (bound for pvp with core) • blockjump got some neat changes making outplays easier to do and is overall more viable • some animations are faster (seamless for example is faster by I'd say roughly 20%) • corrupted sword dance now has a locked cooldown, got FG and down attack though • sudden decapitation has wider aoe, though it's a bit weird to use • mach explosion has more damage • vacuum slash has a wider aoe at the last attack I think I covered the most important stuff. Ninja Evasion is the only skill I don't use. I have Flashing Light locked because I prefer to use it on quickslot. There isn't really a need to lock most Ninja skills imo because the keys generally don't conflict with each other. Blade Spin is a quickslot only skill so locking it doesn't really do anything.

Do you have any tips for console players, we get tons of desync so I’m getting stunned in super armors like katana shower, so I’ve had to stop using it almost entirely, what I mean by tips is skills that if castes consecutively won’t have micro gaps where the gap can register me unprotected

Unfortunately I'm not really familiar with how BDO works on consoles. In my experience, if you desync out of a protected skill, the problem is usually with the previous skill that you used. For example, if you used Serpent Ascension > Katana Shower, and then you get CC'd while in Katana Shower, then it means that you actually got CC'd during Serpent Ascension, not because there is gap in Katana Shower. But I don't know if the same applies for console.

@@IntTuition so in my case I use block jump, i pop out as soon as my friend uses block jump while he’s completely invisible on my screen I attack where he is invisible because I can kill him in it, so the protections are delayed by about half a second to a whole second

Ninja Step doesn't change your stance. So if you were already in Awakening then you'll stay in Awakening and don't need to C swap; but if you were in Pre-awakening then you'll need to C swap to Awakening.

Nice video for someone who is about to play bdo and ninja for the first time on the season server. Trying to decide between awakening and succession. Awakening looks cooler but which has the faster movement speed and movement based skills like dashes and survivability?

Succession has better burst movement whereas Awakening has better sustained movement. Succession survivability depends a lot more on Super Armor compared to Awakening, which means Succession is more gear dependent. This doesn't really matter as much on Seasonal server though since it's capped at 250 AP 309 DP, but if you want to eventually PvP on the main servers then it will probably be easier to survive on Awakening until you get better gear.

Hi new player here, i have carpal tunnel and I want to learn/play ninja, it looks fun, im not much into pvp but i enjoy grinding and lifeskilling, does anyone here have any tips for someone wanting to get into ninja? Is it as apm intensive as people say? or does that depend on the person/grindspot? I would appreciate an answer very much!

Sorry, I'm not much help when it comes to PvE. I will say though, that yes, Ninja is a lot more apm intensive relative to other classes, as there are some very low apm classes in this game. However, it's not like Ninja is StarCraft level of APM or anything, and I feel that the average player can get accustomed to the APM through practice. But I don't have the necessary qualifications to judge how much carpal tunnel will affect your ability to play the class or not. I would say just give the class a try during Seasons. You would be able to figure out pretty quickly if the apm is uncomfortable for you just by leveling the character, and there is a free exp/sp transfer if you decide to reroll off Ninja.

I miss ninja Awk with 3s Murderous Intent cooldown. The cooldown change is very crippling while other classes have op sa attacks they can spam.
