@pt.antonio2 ай бұрын
@@rolandkampa2448 first the Olympic Committee generates billions of dollars in marketing s&%#, second they pay the athletes nothing to participate in their games. If it wasn't for brands like Redbull, most athletes wouldn't be able to afford a living. If you really think these athletes should work endless hours for free and then not even have access to the footage of their work, that is your prerogative.

We were watching from our travels in our campervan in Slovenia - the other campers must have wondered what all the shouting and cheering was about when Sorato fell (sorry Sorato). If ever you have a tough moment in training or life, imagine the thousands of brits around the world all simultaneously cheering at your victory, and the uncontrolled moment of happiness that you gifted to so many people. We first saw you climb at the CWIF when you pulled off an insane one armer off a small pocket and it's been incredible watching your progression since (recently watching you in Chamonix). It's an inspiration that you put so much effort into reaching your goals, but still maintain the self awareness to enjoy the moment and compete with excitement and joy. Keep doing what you're doing!

I have watched you compete and been inspired by you for a long time and I was still not ready for how I felt when you won gold. I truly believed that Sorato would win so watching him fall simply shocked he for a brief moment. I had expected to be relatively chill with either result, as I do want to see Sorato achieve his goals as well, but I was anything but chill. I found myself running around my room screaming (MMMYYYY GOOOOOOAAAAATTT) on the verge of tears and I almost punched a wall. Since then I have no lack of motivation to train and climb. Fantastic film, Toby - blows my mind how much work goes into being an Olympic champ, but this is such a brilliant demonstration of 'trusting the process' - you timed it to peak your performance at the perfect moment, and the fact that you can say you climbed to the best of your ability when it counted most, that you enjoyed your climbing on the day, *and* you took victory just shows how well you prepared and how well you were supported by your Dad, by Liam, and the rest of your family and team. Awesome achievement! And yes - to anyone thinking of giving climbing a go: *do it*. I've been climbing just over a year so far, and wished I'd discovered it years ago. It's improved my life in so many ways. ❤ Thank you Toby for not only being a sporting inspiration to many, but being so generous with your experience, insights and time. 🙌
