Instead of budget oriented, I would be grateful for a video, with examples, of what bases should your basic collection of fragrances cover. Different seasons, formal/informal, etc (if you work as a doctor, it doesn't make sense to go to work doused in versace's eros, for example). Some versatile examples maybe, that can cover several categories, so you don't need 100 fragrances to get through a year. I hope I'm making sense... All I'm sayin is that most of these videos seem to be targeted at people that are already well into fragrances. Not so many bother with people starting out, covering the basics. Cheers!

But it's also insane to think how much you're actually spending on fragrances when you think about it, I was like who has 750 dollars to just start a new hobby, then I think about it, and realize I've spent thousands on fragrances. While not necessarily a waste, I find myself not caring too much for what I wear anymore; BDC, ADG, and the one gets me through everything and are daily drivers, haven't touched much since. So having a few for daily use is probably the way to go, niche isn't always that good either. Safe fragrance are probably the best way to go for anyone.

Solid list. It really disappoints me how watered down and weak La Nuit has become after numerous reformulations. Having owned the original formulation, the current formulation pales in comparison. The original had so much more depth and performance. I'm so glad I still have a bottle of the original formulation.

I’m torn between the two and I thought maybe you could critique the two of them for all of us. You know, compare the notes and what environment they’re each best suited for as well as their projection longevity, etc. and your personal preference. I thought it would be a pretty unique review from a great house that just doesn’t seem to be as well known as some of the others. It would certainly garner a lot more interest in the two and you’re really great at this sorta thing and I’ve not seen a direct comparison from another reviewer. Just a thought...

I bought Dark Rebel for my dad for christmas. It's a great smell, very smoky and Masculine. But I personally wouldn't suggest buying it because the performance is NON EXISTENT! There is no projection and off of 3 sprays I get maybe 2-3 hours off of it. My dad is the same way. I had a friend of mine try it to see if it was just us and he had the same problem. I have not tried dark rebel Rider, so I can't attest to it, but I would definitely not sink money into dark rebel unless you're going to decant it and keep some on you during the day to constantly re-apply.

I sampled Savauge edp and it smells different than the edt which smells much better imo. I still prefer Dylan blue over Savauge though. Spice bomb is my next blind buy I believe. Ain't so sure about Mancera since it might smell unisex or smth like Amuage or JPG which are not my type of scents. Thanks for the holistic smart review! I believe it could benefit everyone especially the young crowd.

For Beginners a good list... maybe for Reflection Man I would add Prada L'Homme for Beginners, and from Spicebomb the Extreme Version instead the normal. The Dior and the Acqua di Gio could leave (to much people and not great enough) and you have a list for under 500 $ 😬

The Sauvage perfume is actually really good forget what everyone says, it’s made for a different customer than the other two, it has such a nice Mandarin orange note to it, everything is smooth and the longevity is great, less Projection but it still definitely projects. The fragrance apprentice made a video and did like 12 sprays saying he couldn’t smell it at all I totally disagree although the price is too high and I definitely believe bleu Chanel parfum is worth the $150.00 price point

@Sumgi I got into the fragrance community about 2 months ago & I've already spent over $750 on 10ml samples. Due to my professional/social circles, I tend to gravitate more towards Niche fragrances. However, l purchased SEVERAL Designer tester bottles from ForeverLux in the process. Just last weekend I paid full retail for Santal 33 & PDM Kalan (PDM was pushing Kalan by giving away PDM leather business card holders, PDM leather passport covers & two 5ml samples of all their fragrances). The value of the free stuff was what convinced me to pay retail versus shop online. So yes, you can definitely spend quite a bit of money on fragrances.
