posting a poem for the first time I like your shoes. I'd love to know The way you choose Where to go, Who to follow And who you trust. Wanna adjust My thoughts, my life And not to fight. Do shit for fun And drive all night. Tell you I'm fine. Ur hard to find. I like your hair. The way you speak. And what you wear. Tell you I care For me it's rare. And what I need Just you to read my thoughts, indeed. You won't forget The night met. This means a lot. And I'm about To start a life Without lie.

I used to love writing stories when I was younger but stopped for years (I’m 15 now.) I’ve been wanting to get back into it but it’s hard and I don’t feel creative anymore. However, I wrote my first poem a couple month ago and I thought it was pretty nice to do and especially since it’s something you can genuinely connect to with real life. I’m literally the only person in my English class that loves doing poetry and is my favourite lesson, along side history. This has inspired me to get into poetry :)))💓✨

Trigger warning ⚠️ •Mountain tops • Do you know that feeling? That impression like you could do anything, go anywhere, meet anybody, and talk to anyone. And the feeling of inhaling that bitter breeze while standing on the mountain tops. Observing the beautiful sight. Being more elevated then the treetops. Soaring over all the people who damaged you. And then that feeling of misery and sorrow you felt is all washed away once you felt the breeze against your clothed body once you drop down from the mountain tops. And you comprehend that all of your despair is departed from your mind as you clash with the ground below you. Every little thing is gone. No need to worry about the despair and the misery and the sorrow it’s all gone. The mountain tops are my favourite place. Where beloved things start and things end.

(Not the best but I like love poems) His smile glows as I hold him close The melody of my heart bursts into a symphony. He calls me his I call him mine. I say I love him He says he loves me. He wraps me in his embrace Tranquil in the moment. Sweet silence and peace As we say goodnight to the stars. A song of a songbird The rhythm of our hearts. The sweet serenade of love As we keep each other whole.

Storms He was like a storm. He came into my life quickly. He brought endless rain and terrorizing winds, Making everything seem sickly. But like a storm, It was calming at the same time, To know that in the end, Everything will be left sublime. And like a storm, He changed into a hurricane. Unexpectedly he went out of control, Bringing with him lots of sorrow and pain. But I liked the storm. He reminded me of myself, With his troubles and rain. And like a storm, he broke my walls for himself. I realized that the storm wasn’t good for me. So I asked it to go away And to take it’s harsh winds with it. And when he did I realized I wanted it to stay. But then I saw the storm’s terror all around. I realized the storm was never good, I was just too blinded by the beautiful rain To see the damage did more than it should

she is only imagined, in films so sweet, never forgotten, as she passes on the street. he writes her a song, and he think of her as he sleeps, waiting to meet her in his dreams. she stands tall, and her heart beams, with poise yet without pride, it’s like she was created, by Austin or Bronte tied, she belongs in the louvre museum, she as beautiful as rome, and as enticing as greece. she reminds him of poems, written by keats, and yeats, she can bring the world peace. with the body of Monroe, and the face of Hepburn, she’s a goddess, and he knows. i want to be her, to make a man love me, like a Poet imagines love to be.

@Atzael-media11174 жыл бұрын
I first started writing poetry when I was 15 in what I call small sparks of consciousness streaming through my soul, during my own relationship experiences. At first it started because of my pain that I gradually learned how to express through my own person experiences of life, which was translated and understood when I learned how to be honest with myself about how I see the world, and not allowing anyone else tell it for me. At first they were just notes, but I put it to the side and let it marinate. As I began to keep writing them and putting them to the side the relationship I had started making sense to me, and as I gradually matured by gradually being intellectually aware of life I started to make sense of the bigger picture of these poems and I ended up telling the future of where I was heading with these works. Now I published i first poem collection which has nothing to do with the original poetry that started it all, but I have another project I’m working on first before I truly start giving deep with the poetry I’m writing. The reason I say all this is because I too am a organic poet, and you even mentioning the term “organic” sparked this idea to comment all this in the comment section so thank you.

I write poetry too though I really haven't written anything new. You are right many of my poems are about my life experiences. When I go back and read them after many years...I find that they are very powerful, strong and inspiring. It is a gift to write, whether it is poems, phrases or quotes. Continue writing and explore your talent. Make your dreams come true, when you write a poem you will discover that even your own poems uplift you. I am just like you always keeping notes and writing things down. I am at my best when I am alone...words and thoughts all come at once and positivity starts to take over. Pursue your dreams shoot for the gift and use it.

Since everyone else is sharing their poems I might as well share some of mine.: JUST A NAME It is so much more than just a name. It is love. Love poured onto my tongue. It is not just a name. It is desperation. Desperation to have you near. Not just a name. It’s a keening. The keening of the soul’s absence from you. Just a name. Just the air. The air I need to breathe. A name A call Allah!

So much of the way you write is similar to me. My poetry has always been emotion based. I think my best work comes from intense joy or love, or intense pain. On the rare occasion I can write about a nature scene or a flower, but those types of poems lack depth when I write them. I can’t write well unless I attach emotions to things. ... I also borrow a lot from lyrics. My current inspirer is Sami Yusuf. His lyrics are so Rumi-esque and lovely. :)

Also there can be, at least for organic writers situations where you do finish your poem in one draft, however it doesn’t happen often but sometimes other poems inspire you to create what I call “visionary masterpiece” which is a poem that has been mastered in one thought but those poems are more complex then the rest of the poems because they are inspired by multiple works, where as the original ones are inspired but not necessarily by multiple works, it can happen though but my own experiences are different personally.
@simchalebovitch69442 жыл бұрын
I feel my best poems are the ones that I am inspired to write. However, as a teaching assistant (elementary or primary school) I started writing poetry to help my pupils appreciate the different ways that a sound could be spelt and also for class projects. I write at any time of the day or night, depending on when inspiration takes me. I carry a small notebook in my bag to jot down any inspiration on the fly. Because I work supply as a TA, I work on poems that I started but that didn't reach fruition if I'm not in school. I find that it's far harder to record than to write poetry. I have published some of my recorded work on my KZbin channel.

I've been writing poetry for a few months now. I'm finally getting to the point where I'd like to take it more seriously (which is how I ended up here). I was inspired to actually write poetry after reading the book "Nocturnal" by Wilder! Since then, most of my poems make me cringe and want to delete them from existence BUT there are some that I re-read every so often and think, "It's not the best, but I can't believe I actually wrote that." I'd like to get better at the editing aspect of writing poetry... And that's something I have no idea how to do...

Its gone I can't find euphoria my chest starting to burn... trapped with your thoughts As your life begins flash between your eyes you see a light..

Enjoy :)) *It Is Not Fire* The fire in me, derived from stones, will dance and sway, as them blow me away, will still be still for the paper and quill like a lampstand on the table on a needy dark night, will melt your fears as long as you're near, will swallow the waters 'til they turn crystal white The fire in me derived from stones will warp in your eyes all the bluish frosts into a midnight nothingness, will not be there when the moon disappears, can't forever hold the ashes and coals and the smoke flying to the atmosphere with nothing left but the woods too wet to consume; and the eddying air, my only scentless hearts' perfume When my eyes drift from the pitch black night, I put on my clothes on my dewy skin for my body is of flesh weaker than the strongest walls built on shoreline sands Just a little armor from the shame of the playful heat Just a little covering to survive the mist I turn from left to right and see the blots of reds on skins, the marshmallow leftovers of the party hours ago from my glitching memories Every move is a gap bridged on Every ache is a victory Long live the pain that comes from the bites of the fire's apostasy You see, It is not fire that burns us nor that keeps us alive It is everything that we desire to touch more than too much than nothing - theptwelve December 2019

The way I drown Sometimes I don't want to get better, sometimes I want to be down, because this life tastes so bitter, I get relieved by the numb way I drown Sometimes I want to get worse down and down and down, and it does seem to be a curse, I get relieved by the numb way I drown And sometimes smiles just don't feel right, no matter if they're real deep down, and none of those smiles they might, relieve me like the numb way I drown and sometimes the world gets too heavy, for my twisted mind to bear, and right then I want to stop breathing, not be here, not be anywhere Because every high has an end, and darling, I burn while I fall, into the sea I'm sent, I drown, oh I drown with it all And right now I don't want to get better, I really just want to go down, because to me, life tastes so bitter, and so sweet is the numb way I drown

So yeah I made a poem and it's kinda long but I was wondering if anyone has any tips. Sometimes I kind of struggle with relating what I write to real events in my life cause I am 16 and (luckily) nothing much ever happened to me yet. Also, I'd love to put this to music, but it seems kinda impossible. The One Temptation over destination, Barely brings but desolation. So I’ll climb, I’ll find, I’ll leave myself behind. I know it’s of no use, But I can’t control the temptation. Now I am on a journey, Without a destination. You only learn you’re lost, When you find. You only discover you’re down, When you climb. So why might I miss you? And how do I know, If I never met you, That I need you so? For the one I’ve never met, Is the one I’ll never kiss. And the one I’ll never get, Is the only one I’ll ever miss. I’ve grown to be alone, It’s all I have ever known. So I will die or fly, Please don’t make me try. A committed quest for company, How my heartache has grown. I am on a journey, And I’m travelling alone. You can only tell you’re immortal, When you die. You can only know you’re bound, When you fly. But there’s this dark in my life, By the name of you. That I can’t survive, Or ever get through. For the one I’ve never met, Is the one I’ll never kiss. And the one I’ll never get, Is the only one I’ll ever miss. I’m stuck on some route, And my time’s running out. Cause when it’s winter all will fall, Not even I shall stand tall. Will anyone ever interfere, Or marry me on my route? Whilst time ticks tirelessly, My fire is dying out. Cause the fall of summer, Starts such a summer for fall. Yet after all, the winter of fall, Leads the winter to take it all. I am looking for a partner, But I can only gain a guest. And as of my departure, I’ve missed the one I’ve never met. For the one I’ve never met, Is the one I’ll never kiss. And the one I’ll never get, Is the only one I’ll ever miss. Am I looking for a partner, Or am I my own guest? Have I been, as of my departure, The only one I’ve never met? For the one I’ve never met, Is the only one I’ll ever wish. And the one I’ll never get, Is the only one I’ll ever miss. Was I looking for a partner, Or was I my own guest? Was I, as of my departure, The only one I never met? For the one I never met, Is the only one I ever wished. And the one I never got, Is the only one I ever missed. I was the one I never met. I was the one I always wished. I was the one I never got. I was the one I always missed.
