Exactly data abhi ka pata nhi. 5 years back it was average only. Jada option higher studies me hai BS ka. Mostly sab students foriegn me MS/PhD ke liye jata tha

Is it compulsory to take PPO what if we did an internship but we don't want PPO there? As after taking we will miss procedure of so many good companies. And ques 2 ~ do apple google visit iisc of final placements

1. Nope it's not mandatory to accept the PPO, you can reject the offer and sit for placement. 2. In our time (in 2019-20) google visited the campus for SDE role. As far I know apple never visited IisC.

@@kishalaydas i.e. Irrespective of a branch(core/non core branch), MTech Research Program students are also eligible for placement in 3rd sem, correct?

There is a small catch, they can choose to appear for Placement in 3rd or 5th sem (Any one of them). As Mtech research is a 2.5 years program, students like to appear for interviews in their last semester i.e 5th one.

Dear Sir, My son is in iisc, just finished his 1st sem. (CDS) Can you clarify few of my doubts. 1. Is it compulsory to do the internship. 2. Attending those placement process, wouldn't it disturb the routine classes. 3. Which are all the companies visit for CDS, course work. 4. What is the actual minimum package offered to CDS course work students. Thanks in advance

1. No internship is not compulsory to do. 2. Yes placement disturbs the regular classes. This is one of the cons to do placement in October mid. But its just a week or two, within that time students get placed. Wont create much problem. 3. All companies which visits CSA, visits CDS. Any software company will hire students from CSA,CDS, EE, ECE. There is no restriction as such. 4. I dont have exact data for CDS. Minimum in 2019 was 13LPA for our department. For CDS also it will be similar i guess.

@@kishalaydas KD Sir one thing that i am realising after seeing some of ur videos is unlike all IITs, in the placement committee of IISc the students have very little controlling power ie i mean the placement process is not controlled by the students, may be that is the reason why, inspite of being such an elite institution, there are no international packages. I mean from what i am hearing frm u, dont u think the placement committee members should put in more work. Why do u think >1Cr packages are uncommon in iisc. Is this the same placement method ie followed in iit or is it different.

@@rishiroy2476 Yes, Placement coordinators are not that much proactive at IISc. This is an issue.Regarding >1Cr I think the issue is in IISc we dont have btech students. you cant expect those packgaes for Mtech (not even in other IITs)
