Ab jnpt pe bna diya hai then Vizhinjam port, proposed vadhavan and nicobar port bhi bna do. And even pradip port par jisne india ki largest cargo handling port deendayal ko recently surpassed kiya hai

Because of low height of MTHL, JNPT cannot be expanded. Stupid planning, no co-ordination...

no it's costly for nation because it's diliever goods very long run 600kms from jnpt to north India it's not necessary because more port is there and new port can built near surat or navlakhi Morbi Gujarat...so west of fuel which we import costly can save after cutting to transport from jnpt to north India... only jnpt is important for Maharashtra....

*WHAT A JOKE!:* handling 78 million tons of cargo annually IS PATHETIC. Ningbo port handles *1 BILLION, 300 MILLION tons of cargo annually.* Nanjing port, *on the Yangtze River 350 KILOMETERS FROM THE OCEAN, handles 250 MILLION tons of cargo annually.*
