I’m so glad Ryan writes his own work as we’re not very good at it here in the audience. I suppose he workshops and trims each punchline down from something that starts out pretty rough too though, I guess!

In the UK, a Daddy Long Legs refers to a different type of insect. I don't know what to call it since I only know it by the name "daddy long legs", but it has wings and constantly flails around in your house in the autumn

Something makes Ryan's videos so good is how well he manages pacing and making believe that several people are having a real conversation. Many films have a hard time "cloning" an actor and making the conversation fluid, and he manages to get it with many characters at once.

If it helps, I can assure you that the 7 spiders a year fact is false. It was made up by a reporter who wanted to demonstrate how effectively the internet spread misinformation, and now it's among the most often-referenced bits of knowledge there is. Not true though, so no worries there

Bugs do crawl into your orifices at night. In 2021 alone I counted about 8 spiders in my bed either as I'm going to sleep, or waking up with them next to me or on my face. It is terrifying and I don't sleep very much anymore.

Ladybugs were originally called Our Lady’s Beetle. Our Lady is a common term Catholics use to refer to the Virgin Mary, such as in Our Lady of Guadalupe or Our Lady of the Holy Rosary of Fátima.
