Lol. I’m usually tearing a** into the store and I get the start your batch or move to an area with better reception so I rarely have time to grab anything before I start that darn timer. Because as soon as I drop off a batch I pick one up immediately. I don’t like to idle around waiting for batches. I’ll wait about 5 minutes max if no decent batches come up on my dashboard I usually grab a charity one, do it and head home.

@courtneylee97113 жыл бұрын
Great video Jen many of these things instacart corporate said to do i had to learn to do on my own. Shoppers are not trained on how to avoid non delivery claims and they are more common than you think especially when it happens to a family member. The most important factor to help with false claims is by choosing customers who are generous that is absolutely number 1, next is to take timestamp photos and send those photos through chat this discourages non delivery claims as your indirectly telling the customer I have proof, 3rd always knock and ring bell unless customer says otherwise try your best to get them to come to the door so you can tell them thank you take care. If the groceries are not in a safe location where someone can come by and take them wait at a distance and notify support if the customers are not grabbing there items. Support will do there best to get ahold of the customer and if they can't its best to cancel the order. Finally Paul has not told you something very important and that is being a 5 star is not enough to get the best batches. The computers algorithm determines a thing called priority heres what that means. Say me and you Jen are sitting in the same car same phone same cell service same everything and we both see a $90 batch pop up except I see it half a second before you so I get it and it says not found for you. The lucrative orders where the computer shows it to you first is how you score big orders. I have no proof of this but I have noticed if you take a steady amount of batches over someone who takes less orders the computer tends to give you priority more often and you make more money than the other 5 star person. People need to understand this and not just blame bots when they lose out on a batch. I would call this rewarding the VIP shopper ... Fyi: there is much more than 2% for scammers they just don't have the proof to add to that percentage. The actual percentage is closer to 20% but customers are innocent until proven guilty shoppers its the complete opposite.
@deakingsfamilystudio68113 жыл бұрын
So you're saying even if someone has a lower rating than another person, if they do more batches they are prioritized first? 🤔
@deakingsfamilystudio68113 жыл бұрын
Hmm share the photos via chat...awesome idea.
@courtneylee97113 жыл бұрын
@@deakingsfamilystudio6811 im saying the computer dictates who gets first opportunity at a particular batch. Doing more batches i believe increases your odds of seeing a batch you want first and you have the best odds at 5 stars. There are other factors that play into this but what you need to understand the most is if your shown a $130 batch and it gives it to you no problem you were specifically given priority to that batch where as others may of seen it half a second after you. Doing more orders than others I believe does help give you this priority more often. There are many 5 star shoppers that work in the same area as me who complain they rarely get 80 plus and I get them daily. I do a lot of batches daily other than that my stats are no better than there's. When this happens month after month you know its not a fluke that the computer is giving me priority on purpose.
@JENontheGO3 жыл бұрын
SO SO interesting, Courtney! Once again, I thank you for your information. You are definitely an MVP! You provide information and data to back it. I absolutely agree with you and your assessment of shoppers all at five stars getting the priority batches!! Interesting, because I am so highly selective in the type of batches I accept. I will only except batches with extremely high tips and low items. Because of this, I am seeing the better batches than others in my area with a five star. You are spot with this!! I would love to make a video about this but unfortunately this is based on the algorithm and I don’t have full proof other than our own experiences to back this up! It pays to sit and wait and be patient! We are teaching the algorithm how to treat us! 💛
@courtneylee97113 жыл бұрын
@@JENontheGO Instacart will not tell you this nor is there proof unless you do what were doing. Me personally I would say there is no proof of the following but here has been my experience as well several other shoppers. If your looking for ideas try this and leave me a comment and let me know if anything has changed for you. This would be an idea video where people can try new things and see if it helps them with no guarantees. That will not hurt as you are not promising anything but your giving them ideas that perhaps may work like it has for us but its your call of course 😉

I've handed the bags str8 to the customer each time I've had an order reported missing in Chicago if the customer's outside waiting4 bags those are usually the 1ns who report the order missing smh

So interesting!

I have a thought on that. When a customer actually wants to get the order from me, rather than leave at the door, I haven’t been taking a picture because you know they have it. After reading your comment, I’m thinking about how I can take a picture proving I handed it to them.
@Sonofspam643 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I don't know how actually watching the customer collect the bags proves anything. They can just lie and it's their word against yours. In my state you can't record someone unless they agree to it, so you can't sit at a distance and film them getting the bags off the porch.

well, thank you, Jen AND Paul for the tips offered.... the Timestamp is something I use, every delivery. I snap two... one of the groceries AND one of the house address... either on the house, or a mailbox. You just can't CYA enough, can you? As always I love your videos, the colors, your work that you do, Jen! Happy Valentine's day! Sarah

You are right. The only workaround is to make sure that customer answers the door. It might be worth it.

I recently downloaded the time stamp app but half the times it shows the wrong address. So I deleted it. I just use my regular camera and take a pic of the house number and the groceries. Too much damn work but you have to CYA cuz I've already had a couple of customers say they had an item missing.
@JENontheGO3 жыл бұрын
Yes. The app often is incorrect. As long as you are photographing the groceries and make sure when you are doing this you also get the house address as well. Another smart thing to do is screenshot your GPS location. CYA, for sure. 💛

Wait...what about a 5 digit code? I usually wait in front of the house until I've accepted the next batch. I swear this pandemic has given people an excuse to be so antisocial and (sometimes) neurotic. Often, I can tell they're inside, they've responded to or read my delivery message and...nada. It's like they're waiting for me to leave before they will come out. Why!? I just bought your tampons and toilet paper for you, what are you afraid of!? Weird. 😆😆😆
@gibbysue82803 жыл бұрын
Also, how do you provide such excellent customer service (which in my limited experience equats to LOTS of messaging with the customer) AND keep your seconds per item so low!? I, too, give excellent customer service and am messaging with customers a lot and so my time is abysmal. I keep trying to get it down, even getting it down to 145 once and then I get a batch with lots of out of stock items and I'm messaging, messaging, messaging with the customer and BOOM! I'm right back up to 165 seconds per item. Ouch.

I don't know, Jen....I have a 5 star rating, official IC insulated bags that I took pics of and sent to them when I first started, I've done all of the trainings that they've sent me and my speed is in the 80s and I still hardly ever get any batch over $40. My average batch is $25. So I continue to scratch my head trying to figure out what I need to do to get better batches. I live in NJ and it's very busy in my area.

I like to “hang around” 20 to 25 feet back from the door. When the customer does pop their head out with the “WTH are you still doing here” look on their face”, I explain my GPS sometimes puts me off a few blacks (lots of new construction where I am) , and I have read stories of theft of groceries left on the porch. Plus mentioning the frozen pizza/ice cream...or hot rotisserie chicken. I just say I thought I saw a dog and wanted to make sure the dog did not take their stuff. I have had no customer get mad after that! It shows I care.

there's an ap called time stamp i heard about today, when you take the picture it puts all the information about where you are, date , time etc on the image. Another shopper told me about it. Great way to send proof , so when you take the Instacart pic, just op open that ap at the same time an WellA you'll have the same image timestamps, dates, location etc. Hope that helps 🤗🤗
@jenniferpannill16723 жыл бұрын
@@loveitloveit122 yes jen has mentioned that app before. You just want to try to get house # in pic as the app doesn’t always show correct address. That part is frustrating. But it’s definitely a decent app and highly recommended.

Awesome video Jen! Seems like a reliable source based on the insights. I have been frustrated with the ability of the IC Shopper Care agents to give consistent and thorough answers about the topics addressed here. Regarding the line in the email stating that a customer absolutely cannot leave a rating without selecting "one of the other categories" is a bit perplexing. I currently have 2x 4-star reviews. Under the Quality of Items feedback metric I have 0 down votes and No Order Issues. Under the Communication metric I have 1 down vote. Under Finding Items and Replacing Items I also have 0 down votes. This leads me to wonder how one of the 4-star ratings was left, since only one of the metrics had a negative mark.

The difference between below average, average, above average and excellent is tight. I'm currently 4.89 which is below average. A rating of 3 should be below average not a rating > 4.
@Sonofspam643 жыл бұрын
Other shoppers really aren't exposed to the same customers. There's a constant flow of new shoppers who get ratings forgiveness, so they are perfect 5 star shoppers for a good 3 months. I see new shoppers nearly every time I shop. I've helped quite a few who were struggling to find an item. It's annoying that these new shoppers get first pick and take all the good batches.

Hi Jen. I’m not sure how to get in touch with you to ask questions so I picked a post to ask the question. I watched one of your videos talking about having backup Instacart cards just in case mine breaks or something happens to it. When I first signed up I received a card which is the one I’ve been using. Then about a week later I received another one. I just set that one aside but when I saw your video, I’m thinking this one can be my back up. I activated it and when I did, it looks like it just replaced my first card. Am I suppose to be seeing both cards on my payment card list? Can you help me with this? I would greatly appreciate it and do appreciate your time and informative videos. They are great and even purchased several of the items you recommended. I love the goal journal. I just started using it today. Let’s see what happens. Look forward to hearing from you. -Lucy

Jen, not sure if you saw my message above? I hope so I’m just not sure how to message you directly. Thanks.
@JENontheGO3 жыл бұрын
Hi Lucy. Thank you so much for your second comment. Sometimes I comments that I thought I responded to. Thank you so much for your question. So yes, when you order a new back up card and it comes in, you do not want to activate that card until you absolutely need to. Once you activate the new card, it will replace the old card. What you want to do is order another card, when you receive it, leave it in the envelope and put it in your glove box. Don’t even open the envelope unless you absolutely need to. If you lose or break a card, then simply take it out of the glove box and activate it at that time. I have a couple cards in my glove box should I need them. But remember, do not activate them until you do need them. As far as the journal goes yes, I love it so much and this one is simple and plain yet it’s the check off system. Just like anything if you are consistent with this journal it will help you tremendously. 💛 have a great rest of your week. Thank you so much for your support and for being here.
