Gregg Wallace is in Stoke on Trent, at an enormous cherry bakewell factory where they produce 250,000 little tarts every day. He follows the production of cherry bakewells, from the arrival of 27 tonnes of flour right through to dispatch. Along the way, he learns what makes a shortcrust pastry ‘short’ and discovers the simple way they ensure every cherry is precisely placed. They employ a team of 12 who carefully pop each one on top by hand.

What they don't tell you is how much water Almond trees need to grow (it's obscene), which is a HUGE problem in long term, draught-stricken California. Or that China is driving the demand (and price) for Almonds in California, which is literally draining the state dry.

Nut Butter, that would suggest there was Nut Milk from which to separate the Nut Fat from the Nut Milk to make Nut Butter. Almonds must have gone GMO if they have mammary glands to produce milk to make butter. how many MACHINES does it take to PROCESS the almonds into spreadable mush? too many. it's called Processed Food for a reason.

The discolored almonds look fine and wouldn't be noticed ground up and mixed. At the high price you can't afford to waste. The sudden appearance of fat from a dry product is indeed strange, just like it is hard to believe that there is fat in egg yolks.
