I'm a winter person myself, and you're right about Athens being nice in the winter. On a different note, another drink you can try instead of rakomelo is oinomelo (pronounced "inomelo" - warmed wine with honey, often scented with orange peels, cinnamon, and clove). But be careful 'cause you can get drunk easily with oinomelo. The problem is that it's somewhat hard to find it, whereas rakomelo is more widely known and easy to find.
