But Henry has some memory and others are gone. For example: He says “ I have to get out of here!” When Bendy pops out in chapter 1, even though he should have seen it coming. He tries to talk to Sammy, not knowing he wouldn’t respond in chapter 2. He doesn’t expect Boris to pop out with the bendy cutout and trusts Alice in chapter 3. He doesn’t expect Boris being a monster in chapter 4. He didn’t know Allison and Tom would be at the vault in chapter 5. But he did retain some memory. He knew exactly what to do when he was in the lower levels in chapter 1. He didn’t react when Sammy tied him up in chapter 2. He knew Piper would come out of the poster in chapter 3. He knew Bendy would save him from the projectionist in chapter 4. And he remembered what he would need to do to defeat Bendy in chapter 5.

Honestly? I don't see your point. The only problem that is actually a problem in my eyes is the optimization, and you're absolutely right on that. But honestly i don't see the terrible failure in the game's beginning, and what you say regarding that doesn't ruin the experience in the slightest, honestly. Henry doesn't emote a lot of the times, but that's really not a problem? It was probably because it's an indie studio so they couldn't add a lot of voice acting, and also sometimes he does say when something is off, like when he discovers new paths in the studios that he didn't know about. It's obvious that ink creatures seeking to murder him and carboard characters moving isn't normal, so the game didn't need to explain that, and instead it explained with Henry what the player couldn't have guessed, that the studio had secret hallways that Henry didn't know about. So honestly, i don't get your point at all

But... even if it's an indie studio I understand if that were the case for chapter 1. But this game is literally one of the most popular indie horror games and started becoming so not long after chapter 1 came out. They had the money to optimize, fix the tons of game breaking bugs, and get a competent voice actor and writing staff. But they didnt. The creators obviously didnt care and seeing the controversy that happend a little while ago obviously still dont care. As a Bendy fan, I understand that the game had bugs and glitches and its disappointing, but, there are people out there who played the game that had experienced these sort of errors laugh it off. This one time when I played the xbox one version, I was doing the 1st part of the lever challenge in chapter three where you have to kill the searchers. While I was slaughtering the searchers one by one, one of the searchers got bugged and instead of it moving forward, it moon walked the other direction. Instead of getting frustrated, I laughed my head off because it was a funny thing I haven't seen before. You see, it's not always about the experience of the game you play, it's rather more the memories you make while playing the game. I hope this comment helps you understand my point.

Well...it depends. Glitches can be funny, but not if they are irritating, many of which got into bendy. I get your point, some people might laugh at it, but only few. This opinion is wrong, #1 voice acting point They don’t want to distract the player with henries reaction, he only talks to expand the plot a bit. #2 The story The story of this game is truly remarkable, for example : Joey drew creates a cartoon with his friend Henry, but Joey is hiring too many employees and doing too many projects and the company is losing thousands each day. He prioritizes on a theme park to build money, but he doesn’t want animatronics or people in suits. He just wants real cartoons. So he creates the ink machine and in a sick way, he turns everyone into living cartoons. He locks it all away and sends his former best friend to solve it. And many more points I can call out.

After playing the game again my opinion on the game truly unfolded. I always noticed the flaws in the design of the levels, missions, characters, gameplay, story etc. but i tried to handwave some of it. Why? I really don't know. I guess I tried putting more effort into immersing myself into the world, story and scenario than the game ever did and let that blind me a little. But now I do not let any of the games flaws get a pass because all of them should've been piss obvious from the start and never allowed to be released the way they were/are. 1) Terrible hit detection 2) Inexcusably slow walking/running characters 3) Long monolgues from susie while being forced to listen with nothing happening 4) Awful/out of place/pointless boss fights that don't work with the controls 5) No effort in trying to connect the audience to the characters and relying on fan fiction to do the job. 6) Constant waiting for enemies to move, audio tapes to play, gameplay taking you places to do things slowly etc. 7) Pointless and badly integrated stealth with limited controls. And more. This game needs a mega remake because it relies way too much on it's barely touched upon ideas to really be worth its hype.

Wow...so many missed plot points, self evident characteristics, symbolism, etc. Makes the review almost laughable. Wait a minute, Bendy on mobile isn't a good game *port* or is dude saying the actual game itself of "Bendy & the Ink Machine" is a bad game?? Because Bendy is a badass game that is not only amazingly original, but as a game itself it's a perfect blend of Bioshock style game style meets Outlast! It's presentation is fantastic concerning atmosphere ,world-building, & audio. How can one NOT love the 1930s cartoons Steamboat Mickey-like aesthetic?!?! It's not as scary as true horror classics like Outlast, RE7, or Amnesia, but it's not exactly a "children's game" either. However the mobile port being an objectively bad version, that I can agree with. In terms of a "bad" game I'd say Fortnite is a great example of what bad gaming is.

I’m playing this game and am in Chapter 2. I find it enthralling and very scary so far! It does require the player to do their own work in creating immersion. This is it’s biggest strength. It doesn’t feed you the scares it wants to create. It lets you create them yourself in your imagination. Kind of like that Sandra Bullock film Birdcage, where the scary parts are scaryier because you imagine them to be scary. Tread carefully, because it does not hold your hand and needs some concentration to progress. But underneath the lack of pollish there’s actually a really engaging game!

Wanna know who else was a small team when their first game(s) released? Valve and ID Software. Unlike Bendy, Half-Life and Doom took time to cook in the oven, and came out with little bugs. Bendy took years to make unlike Half-Life and DOOM, and came out like garbage.

The main problem that should've been addressed was the fact that characters such as Alice and Boris become nobodies in the sense that they are nothing but either a tool or an obstacle to be used or killed and never mentioned again. Characters like Sammy becomes even MORE of a nobody because it is hinted at that he is dead and Henry just never mentions him again

Too clear somethings out of the way first I want to say that before I played the game I did make some kind of weird attachment to it in a way I cannot describe, I thought the style was beautiful, I liked the slow rising tension and the ink machine e being lifted and other scenes like that were mesmerising, I agree that chapter 4 went a bit off the style of the first three chapters and chapter 5 was disappointing but still alright and the first three chapters were great. Now for my critique on what you were saying. Basically you said the game sucks like 5 times without getting into proper detail, you are trying to explain Henry’s emotions but you are in an ink world so stop trying to make sense of the biological mentality of this human, having him more emotionless was better as it suited the style of the game which was quiet and atmospheric, the random doors was fine as it just kept you questioning and to be honest I never even thought of critiquing that. I think what is going on here is you don’t want to give a proper explanation as you don’t have one, you criticise things in such an over oversimplified manner and things that don’t actually need to be criticised. The stuff that needs to be criticised is lightly on gameplay and harsher of the final couple chapters and what went wrong, you are definitely one those guys that just likes big shooter games or other games like those, no appreciation for simplicity or thoughtfulness into the complexity of simplicity. Frantic that’s how most popular indie horror games feels like since they used the idea of taking something kid friendly and give it a edgy story. Although 1930s cartoons weren’t all family friendly, I hate how they executed bendy something like “hey we took Mickey Mouse and gave him a scary makeover !”. Bendy could’ve been something more unique other than just being like a darker Mickey Mouse.

Its sad seeing how much dislikes and triggered bendy fans are hating on this video for childish reasons. I have to disagree with you on the game being terrible, i thought it just was very mediocre. Personally i really love the game but i admit there are a lot of flaws on it like the ones you mentioned. The main problem with this game was that it was the studio's first game so they went simple with the very first chapters, then wanted to get ambitious and failed horribly at it, then they wanted to go back to the old style but realized they havent told everything in the story, so they slapped every single idea left into chapter 5 and made it a huge mess. classic game journalist, making points as to why the game is awful and then never backing it up also, dude you were playing the switch version, its no where near as developed or stable as the PC version. the reason doors dont light up is because it would look awful, henry doesnt react to every jumpscare or spooky thing that happens because it would be annoying to hear someone scream or go "oh no" every five minutes. the voice acting isnt awful and I personally think it fits the style of the game. and finally, of course the location that the game takes place is in as you put it "impossible" ITS A VIDEO GAME. I dont see people going on about doom eternal for having floating islands in the middle of a city, so why should bendy and the ink machine get hate for it?

This is soooooo wrong 1) You main complaint is that Henry doesn’t show much emotion. But there almost no horror games where the players even talk. Henry has the most character out of any I have ever scene. 2) How is the writing bad. The story is amazing, the characters are all likable and memorable. Alice in particular is they well written. But I will give you that the dialog isn’t the best. 3) It’s scary to play. Most horror game are scary because of jump scares. Bendy who ever uses a mix of jump scares and emotional scares. But I will give you a pass on the glitching this game does it way to much. But this game is a masterpiece and you can’t tell me otherwise.

I can safely say after beating Bendy... The game is the 3rd worst game I have ever played. Period. It’s boring, buggy, combat’s a mess, soundtrack’s forgettable, characters are forgettable. The only saving grace is the artstyle. The game gets a firm 2/10. Wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy.
