Honestly not only is Black Mesa Blue Shift my favourite source engine mod it is probably my favourite Half-Life mod period even rivalling Black Mesa itself in certain parts of the game. HECU Collective has done an incredible job with this and I'm honestly looking forward to it being finished. However it would be nice for them to one day go back and finish the Azure Sheep remake they were doing.

I think, for the ending, they need to make the situation for Barney more dire. Like somehow try to encourage running rather than fighting into the sequence. I'd like to think that Barney can't possibly fight off all of the soldiers flooding in, so he has to run. Because in the original you can quite easily just take out all of the soldiers and hop into the teleporter.

WOW, just watched the xen teaser part, that looked completely amazing. I wont take anything away from what Crowbar collective did with xen, it was awesome, but this version looks a bit grayer and closer to the HL1 version, but in a very good way!! looks like you deviate a bit from the more colored , bright version of BM, very, very interesting take!

I've never played Blue Shift before and am having such a great time with it. It really does feel like a parallel journey to Gordon's and the Black Mesa version of well, Black Mesa is even more vividly realized than I remembered from my first playthrough of Half-Life in 1999.

Thanks for reply my question about the comedy! (also you spell my user name correctly jaja, I know its strange but it create it when I was 8 years old jajaja) I know that comedy is present at all Half-Lifes and of course Otis is the best one for this (I love him a lot, your Otis is the best Otis of the saga) my only concern about the comedy matter is that the first time that I played the chapter 4 version of the game, I see it as a more often resource rather than a more occasional one and that distracted me from the history and taking out the tension of the situation as if the characters didnt take it seriously enough. Thanks to your reply I see your perspective about this matter (thats why I like to talk/discuss/compare POVs about things) and now I see that this is more like your personal touch, something natural from your creative process. At the moment I am casually replaying BMBS and I dont mind that much about it, I think that it is more a matter of narrative rhythm, where there is horror or tension then 2 scenes of comedy and the first time I didnt like it, now I dont see it as a big issue. Also I like to heard that you do not plan to get beyond comedy to Portal levels, that was something that I was wondering about the time that I played chapert 4 first time and I am glad to see that you have in mind a solid balance between the type of comedy at HL/BM and Portal. Now, if I have only a complain about all the game at the moment is the reunion with Otis and Murdoch right after Harold's scene, personally I just want to meet them like 1 minute after the scene, may be at the end of the corridor where they appear that all I will like to see. Since that scene is the most dramatic one in the game, along with the elevetor scene at the beginning, I think that this way the player can fully assimilate it before going to the next to do thing. Lastly, just want to tell that your Xen teasers are amazing! Xen is my fav area of any Half-Life and is really hard to work with, its easy to do it bad and hard to do it good and you guys are doing an amazing job! I am really going to enjoy figthing those Manta Rays for sure! Also, your old labs blowed my mind as they are my fav section of Blue Shift and you did a impresive work there! Hope to see more about your work soon!

I know it was customary to shit on it, but chalk me up for one of those weirdos who actually liked the original Blue Shift. I liked that it was a very compact, very pared down experience. I liked the more down to earth approach, getting to the old experimental and already decommissioned teleporter mini-facility. firing up some discarded piece of equipment not to save the world, but just to save you and your buddies from the imminent danger. I think that's the core spirit of Blue Shift, and for the remake it should be kept as the main... *focus*

Question for HECU team: With all these organic, really detailed environments, is the HL2/BM engine not a really big limitation? When I look at things the newest Unreal Engine stuff that can be done, like Procedurally generated graphs and a new animation system, do you feel sometimes that you are in a limited "hell" when working with a more outdated engine? (All that said, I do like the feel of HL engine stuff better than Unreal stuff, so..)

Eu amei esse remake do Blue Shift e acabei de terminar com o Blue Shift original e nossa ainda estou jogando o remake e fiquei maravilhada com os personagens e com as personalidades dos próprios e adorei os dois amigos do Calhoun e dos novos NPCs que apareceram a cientista e o Roney que é o rapaz da manutenção e é claro quero ver todos conseguindo fugir daquele local, bom no original o Dr Rocenberg e os outros quando passam pelo teletransporte acaba aparecendo os soldados , bom se puderem dos caras não meter o louco como a Crowbar fez com o Freeman no Surface Tension e Forget About Freeman ! pode até ter uma ação pra ele ir até o teletransporte e claro que eu gostaria que os dois guardas que são amigos do Calhoun se expressasem na hora que ele vai até Xen aí volta e depois ele vê o Freeman sendo arrastado pelos soldados e depois voltando definitivamente pro Dr Rosenberg e bom gostaria que o final dele , mostrassem fotos de como o nosso querido Calhoun sobreviveu a todos esses anos junto com os sobreviventes . E claro esperando pelos próximos capítulos que faltam e podiam fazer o remake do Opposing Force e reescrever a história pra ficar mais clara depois que terminbar com o remake do Azure Sheep claro.

We only have two main level designers, both of which also work jobs, and one in Ukraine, who's electricity is being rationed. So yeah, it's gonna take a while to finish, and so what? We're not out rushing to finish something in under a year just for people like you. We still have a product that you can play right now and that's more than you can say for a lot of mods of this scope. So be patient.
