Our quest to better understand the Balkans and Kosovo led us to Mitrovica or Kosovo's segregated city.... We hope there will one day be a positive outcome here for both sides...what did you think about this Segregated city?

It helped us preserve what little of Serbian people are left in Kosovo and Metohija. Maybe you could visit Serbian getos around Kosovo and Metohija to have a clearer insight.

Title is wrong - Albanians and Serbians are of the same race - white. But yes, they are different; Albanians are a separate indo-European group while Serbians are South Slavic people of the larger Slavic group with Russia and others. Albanians speak Albanian, an old indo-European language written in Latin letters, while Serbian language is written in Cyrilic and is part of Slavic languages. Albanians are believed to be part of the ancient Illyrian heritage, while Serbians moved to the Balkans with the great Slavic migration in 7th Century; Bulgarians (on the East) (7th century) and Serbians (14th century) built their "Empires" and ruled much of the Balkans including Albanian inhabited areas, and much of Greece; Ottoman Turks conquered Kosovo from Serbia in 1389 - Serbia revolution for independence (1817) started even before the Greek revolution (1821) - Serbia became independent from the Ottoman Empire in 1878, and re-took Kosovo in 1913 when the Ottomans lost the Balkan War. Kosovo joined Albania in a short stint during WW2 helped by Italians and Germans, but after the WW2 both Serbia and Albania became communist countries, and agreed to ceede Kosovo to Serbia/Yugoslavia. Kosovo gained autonomy by the new Yugoslav Constitution of 1974 that gave Kosovo region a local parliament and powers similar to other Yugoslav republics. Kosovo Albanians did not like the Autonomous status and rose in general strike against Serbian regime seeking Republic recognition; Milosevich came in power in the desintegrating Yugoslavia; he waged wars in Croatia and Bosnia. Milosevich increased military and police presence in Kosovo and led a reprisal policy against Albanians in Kosovo. Albanian there went in general strike, peaceful for a decade, Serbia stopped government funds for Albanians in Kosovo, so Albanians built a parallel system of governance including education and health/medical conducted in private homes. Milosevich increased repression against Albanians; Albanians in Kosovo held a plebishite/referendum for independence from Serbia in 1990 where the majority of Albanians voted for independence; however Serbian government did not recognize it and police and military force was called to repress the independence movement. Some Albanians created a military group that aimed at interrupting Serbian police and military activity against Albanians in Kosovo and used guerrilla tactics against Serbian forces. Kosovo Liberation Army was originally called a "terrorist" group, but later it changed course from sabotage, became a regular fighting unit (army) and received recognition and support from the West and USA. Milosevich increased military repraisals against Albanians in Kosovo, hundred of thousands of Albanians were kicked out of their homes by Serbian army and police; more than half of Kosovo Albanians ( one million or more people) were forced to walk away from their homes in March 1999 while Serbian army took control of Kosovo; caravans of Kosovo Albanians expelled from their homes were several miles long heading toward safety in Albania and some in neighboring Yugoslav Macedonia where more than a quarter of population also is Albanian. NATO decided to intervene militarily, bombing Serbian military installations in Serbia, Kosovo and Montenegro ending the ethnic cleansing in Kosovo. Many Albanians returned back home in Kosovo after the 78 days long NATO siege was over. NATO supports Kosovo and has built a big military compound near Pristina that serves as a safeguard against any attempts from Serbia at re-taking Kosovo. Serbia is aligned with Russia, while Kosovo is closely related with Albania and NATO. Mitrovica in Kosovo is a segrated city along national lines; Serbians live in the north of the city, while the Albanian majotiy lives in the south. KFOR oversees the peace and order.

The Romans were only occupiers, like the Turks, they left their archaeological traces, but the people under them were the same people who still live here. Now we have archaeological evidence that we lived here even before the Romans, but these facts threaten the order of the empire. How do you explain to your subjects that "primitive" peasants from the soil of Serbia, "aggressors" and "criminals" enemies of "European values", once gave Rome emperors and created superb works of art, but were not "Romanized"? That's why they deny us knowledge about our heritage, and give that heritage to newly created peoples.

There is no need to argue whose country is whose land it is. There are DNA test and they tell you the real truth, how about that?

Did you look into it? I bet not because you would know that all South Slavs have more indigenous genes than Slavic. It's the same for all Balkans. Your argument is mute.
@jay-on2qy

Every dna test shows that Serbs have more indigenous Balkan dna than Albanians, you can literally watch videos here of albanian ancestry tests vs Serbian, so your argument that you are more indigenous than Serbs is totally incorrect. The very name Kosovo I Metohija and all other places in Kosovo all have only Slavic Serbian names, that in itself should give you a good hint as to who was here first!
