No, prepaid sim doesn't work here

@@KapilRathore Leave your sim at your home, and buy a pre on post sim when you will reach Jammu(don't buy from shops near to Railway station), that is a postpaid type sim and prices are affordable. You can also ask about pre on post sim in your local area. And when you will reach in college then connect your new no. with your bank and ..... and untill then you can ask otp from your parents who will have your older sim card.

@@KapilRathore there is another option, you can talk to some sim guy and tell him the matter then he will call an airtel sim guy who will tell you to lie that you are going to use this sim for work and that you are not a student during the time for verification (a call for verification comes), this way you can retain your number and the money you have already bought a pack for . otherwise for students airtel guy takes 4 month advance for post paid sim
