I graduated from IIT, currently in abroad but you know what IITs was never about placements, money or education. IITs is just an atmosphere to learn that fighting spirit, and create a strong brotherhood with some of the brilliant minds. Rest is upto you. I've friends who're earning more than I do by being an entrepreneur, and others who're doing nothing special. (Mundane at best) If you're in India, then give IIT a shot! The network is awesome (with mediocre people too, but you'll find you ways to connect with right ones). Doesn't matter if you get there or not, try to get into the big boys club. Improve soft skills, story telling, etiquette, how to dress well, present yourself, communication.. These will open so many doors that you cannot even imagine. (And you'll get access to a new and better network that will include more than what IIT offers).. And yes, try entrepreneurship.. And yes, don't take drop years, or spend your life preparing for competitive exams.. Life is more than IIT, IIM or anything else.

Send the kids to good foreign universities, there is no point hanging onto a 1% odds. If you want to spend money, spend it on foreign education in developed countries that have labor shortages. This will give your kids better odds to get a good job and a better life. If a parent has the resources, they should send their kids abroad. Some good countries are Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Netherlands, Germany, etc.

IITs actually keep out the best students. There are a lot of students capable of solving IIT JEE exams but take more time to understand and solve the problems. Our govt should have invested more in building a lot of technology companies so we have an understanding of how many engineers, doctors, scientists our country needs and accordingly have a proper number of seats in medical and engineering colleges.

since i am also a JEE aspirant so i can tell you the reality as i see near me the real competition is only and only the top 200000 aspirants and the remaining are just doing it because of the peer pressure. And the no of aspirants are actually increasing in the rural part of our country because of the easy accessibility of online platforms like PW , Vedantu and Unacademy etc and 1 thing that you said the CAC (customer acquisition cost ) is not small for Unacademy , Vedantu etc they are actually in heavy loses and they are still recovering while PW is in profits because of the brand value that Alakh sir bring on board. One more thing I want to say that actually most of the aspirants are not fighting for the 17000 IIT"S seats instead many wants to go into NIT"S AND IIIT"S and the no of seats by combining these colleges goes upto 60000 which is quite reasonable but the seats are increasing but very slowly. Another thing which happened this year is that only 1.4 lakh students came to kota to study for IIT"S which is 30% less than the previous year which is quite good for the mental health of students. IITs have worth not only because of the placements, but also, they provide exceptional alumni network, exposure, labs, and faculty. It's true that maybe many faculties are not that great at teaching at IIT, but under them a lot of great projects take place, the colleges have very good labs, if someone wants to take advantages of that he/she can, and also the guidance and activities that happen in the IITs give them so much exposure. This is not there in tier 3 and private colleges. Some private colleges might also have these facilities, but they come at a cost of fees and a huge pool of students. Thanks for communicating the discrepancies in the IIT Hype pipeline, i went through it failing and wounding myself through self hate and depression, 8 years later and I can still feel the hopelessness of not making into a field (I have a BTech in ME from tier 3 college under AKTU, my only worries during semesters...not getting a backlog and that's my achievement from 4 yrs in Engineering) that I never had specific inclination for but alas, I had shown some "potential" and was confused on the options that were actually interesting. Can't go back now...but YES THERE ARE ALWAYS FURTHER OPPORTUNITIES TO PROVE YOUR METAL...so stay strong everyone and anyone! At the end you live your life by yourself, friends and family matter but they don't define your fortune and misfortunes, they are part of it so understand and take a step back. Love yourself and never think you are undeserving of love and empathy...wish I had been kinder to myself, but anyways HUGE THANKS AGAIN for the video Maam!!! 💙👏👏👏👍

However, IIT JEE exam and faculties in coaching institutes are one of the best and toughest thing that has a value which is respected round the world. Clearing IIT JEE is just one step, and students should be prepared to do higher studies, given that the faculties in IITs are usually rotten eggs. Not to forget that if you do not study inside IIT then do not expect to get good placement just because you cracked IIT JEE.

Even I gave JEE mains around 4 years back and secured a rank of around 1L out of the 11L students who took up the exam. In the end I got to know that even the top 10% is equivalent to the remaining 90%. This hit me when one of the parents said "Apka bacha ek seat k liye 20 hazar baccho se lad rha h, wha second aa ke bhi failed h." But the journey of preparation for JEE gave me a lot learnings I am still grateful for ❤

One suggestion for Loveena Kamath and Full Disclosure. At many points in the above Video, the music became too loud and was overpowering the dialogue. As a result, at times it became impossible to hear what the narrator/speaker was saying. Please reduce the volume of music (or maybe even remove it completely), so we can hear the speaker more clearly. Many thanks.

2:22 It's important to note such stat would not be great to mention, as you are missing some key points like Yearly funding. For eg. IIT Roorkee alone recieves yearly funding of 600 crores from the government. Wonderful video though🙌 Working hard for things(PCM) that maybe you even don't like much at an age of 16 obviously will make you immune to even tougher challenges ahead and i have experienced it personally too.(Currently at IITR)
