Looking to build one myself. Great looking setup!! I just bought my first suppressor last week. Got approved in 4 days…couldn’t believe it. Did my first Form 1 back in July, it only took 9 days. SBRd my HK SP5. I’m glad I put off entering the NFA world till now. I’d rather not have anything then have wait 9-10 months. I’d go crazy!

Very slick build! Of course I would run that sucker! I was in the position to build one 2 years ago when I saw an amazing blackfriday deal on brownells. I opted for the M4A1 upper and I pinned my flash hider to it. I love the 10.3” but something about no longer worrying with the braces and ATF was more appealing to me. I couldn’t be more happy with the build. I threw an nx8 2.5-20 with a top mounted Steiner MPS on mine. Last weekend I got 1.5” groups out of friggin PMC 62 green tip Xtac ammo lol. It’s a laser beam! I can’t hate the eotechs, I have one but that puppy would look so nice with a 1-4 Elcan specter on it.

The magnification is just not needed. Rarely will you engage passed 300 meters. Only us Americans think it's needed. Not only am i a 22 year veteran in the Army, i did 2 contracts in Ukraine. You'll never engage far distances. Other than that, pretty nice.
@RedRiverProductionsАй бұрын
@@Korpzgrindr it's more for my horrible eye sight. Lol
@KorpzgrindrАй бұрын
@RedRiverProductions i get that but realistically you'll be fighting in urban environments or wooded areas with trenches most of those engagements are 100-250 meters. If you train to fight, so to speak, there should be absolutely no reason you're not crushing targets in that range with an Aimpoint or Eotech only. All the fighting being done now is very close due to drone warfare reshaping infantry tactics not to mention covering advancing movements as well as retreating movements with Artillery. Believe me when I tell you, it's not needed. Yeah it looks cool and it definitely works as intended but in my opinion most people you engage will be in defilade and when you do see more of them you're within 50 meters. It's your money though, do what you wish. Only people I've ever seen in all my years in service with scopes or magnification were machine gunners or marksman, which that gun it's not.
@RosaParksWasWytАй бұрын
If you can’t see the benefit in magnification then you must’ve done 22 years as finance/administration and 2 contracts in ukraine as a yoga instructor 😂
@KorpzgrindrАй бұрын
@RosaParksWasWyt i started my career as a 19D went to Airborne School and then became a 18D. If you're setting up an AR15 platform you should have in mind your engagement limits. If you want to engage 500-800 meters, set up the proper platform for the designation. Be mindful of the effectiveness of your platforms as well as what you're trying to accomplish. I didn't say magnification wasn't important. Please read my comment correctly. If you want to build a DMR, it's the wrong optics.
@msquared9605Ай бұрын
First off awesome build! But in my opinion, considering all the money you’ve spent on it, you might as well spend another $200 on the SBR stamp. That way you won’t have to worry about ever changing brace rulings, and don’t have to look over your shoulder should you decide you want to put something stiffer on it when shooting. Take this with a grain of salt tho, cause I’m in the same pickle with my 11.5” build 😅 I’m leaning towards SBR eventually because I keep my 300blk shorty a pistol and also have a 9mm pcc pistol on the way And also, fuck the cloners. I much prefer a “Mock18” build over a MK18 clone build

Nice setup. Just sbr it, you're already in nfa territory with the suppressor, might as well have a stable point of contact with a stock. I get what you're saying about not wanting to have to deal with requesting out of state travel permission, but a barrel that long needs a suppressor.
