Thank you for your comment, BRUCE WAYNE. I guess the reasons are Japan-U.S. Security Treaty in 1951 and after WW Ⅱ.

The US is suppose to have bases in Japan to watch Japan and make sure they never invade another country again. That was one of the earliest justifications. But over time US became lenient with Japan and moved bases to Okinawa simply because Japan didn't want to burden bases. Its litterally the same as being punished for being a nazi but telling US yeah I don't want to carry out the sentence can you make our colony do it instead and US saying sure because in return Japan will let them take as much land by force as they want from a stateless people. Bases are here because Okinawa's lack of statehood post WW2 made it convinient to put bases here

We are occupied by the US to control our country. Okinawa is convenient for war in SE Asia and East Asia so there are multiple bases there.
