When I make my homemade bacon bits, after chopping the bacon slices, I start the cooking with some water with the bits. As the water evaporates the bacon starts rendering the fat that ultimately will fry the bits.

What you call complaints are actually constructive criticism, while your "support" is counterproductive, like stay the course Ben as he is heading for the rocks. Consuming what? I've told Ben that I watch him for comic relief and to help him with the algorithm, even getting hypocrites like you to respond and help him some more for I've learned not a single thing from him and I've taught him a few. Everything Pattaya or Buzzing pattaya, amongst many others here on KZbin, are far better channels with plenty of good and solid advice.

Thai beef is usually inferior to Australian or New Zealand beef, it’s always much tougher to chew. Never had Thai minced beef. Though the chicken and pork is as good as anywhere imo! Food Mart opposite Jomtein Bus Station has a good selection of meats, some that you don’t see in other supermarkets! Having good quality ground black pepper goes well with beef, I had some amazing black pepper when in Madagascar, it enhanced the flavour of the meat big time! It’s called Voatsiperifery pepper, it’s wild pepper that’s very difficult to harvest!

Yea agree Thai beef is not on the same level as beef from the US, or Australia / NZ. I’ve had some ground beef I enjoy but I don’t like the Thai steaks, horrible. For some reason I never checked out food mart I’m not sure why, gotta check out their meat section

There's Big C supermarket in Pattaya, they have boiled pumpkin taro root freakin delicious! And meats. Its a huge supermarket! And prices are good too.

Most street food is ok. It's almost always boiled or fried or grilled and that should kill any bad bacteria. I have had problems with fruit carts selling peeled and cut fruit sitting on ice. I think it is probably the water the ice is made from.

I’ve heard all of the ice is regulated, I don’t think locals would use tap water ice to be honest. Cooking can kill a lot of bacteria but not necessarily everything

You should find if Jomtien / Pattaya has a cooking school. You could learn a few Thai dishes to cook at home. Real chef's courses in the US cost a fortune. I bet in Jomtien you could get something very cheap.

Next time you cook pork belly, starting with low heat without oil, let them sit in pan for a bit, flip over cook again. Dont use high heat

Those beach flies turn into bar flies after sunset, be careful...555.. With a fridge/freezer, you should make a once a week trip to Terminal 21 to eat at the food court and buy some groceries (beef) that you can't find to your liking at the market. Minced chicken makes a good burger or bigger steak. That's not onion, I think it might be sliced tripe. It's not about how long meat is out, it about at what temperature it's kept. In Thailand, you can't count on any of the small vendors being open when they say that they will be. I still try to patronize them though. Try a banana in your smoothie.

Yea terminal 21 is my spot for the minced beef, I go about twice a week. I love minced chicken leg/thigh. Minced chicken breast is too lean and that’s what is most often sold, but in bali I was getting them to ground up the boneless leg which was amazing, and crazy cheap.

I love pork belly, I just use salt and fish sauce to cook usually without oil. I tried with some coconut oil and yea not ideal! I need a splatter guard on top at least

Even in China, meat are sought in fresh markets unrefrigirated, I have never had food poisoning because chinese and thai fully cooked meat, and many chinese and thai buy meat daily.

It takes a crazy amount of bacteria to actually get food poisoning. But even if you don’t get food poisoning and there’s bacteria on the food from sitting out, it’s inflammatory to your body.

Naw they would never make ice from tap water at any respectable place, they buy packaged ice. Tap water ice would also make locals sick.

@@w0lfy_travel-dt8nn By now I've watched dozens of vlogers in Thailand and Ben "wins" the prize of being , by far, the worst vlogger. I've done a fair amount of travelling and lived in 4 different countries, and possibly have more experience on those subjects than your average Ben, besides being older than him, and my opinion of Ben is simply this "this guy doesn't have a clue about anything, but to him that not withstanding, he criticizes everything. The two main reasons anyone watches vlogs about Thailand is to learn about it and to see what the place is like. To those two main points: 1- Ben while vlogging he should turn the camera around so one can see Thailand while he is spewing his ever contradicting opinions. Of the 49 minutes of this vlog almost all of it is showing his 'frown" instead of showing the area that he is walking around. 2- People do appreciate someone's opinion of their experiences, in Pattaya in this case, but not when they are fed different opinions about the same thing within a few steps or minutes. Take the smoothie he got, at first it wasn't bad, a few minutes later it was not good a few minutes later it was crappy. He does this all the time and just about every video. He got what he ordered, didn't like it and then blames the help for his poor choice, they are too young, they have been working there not very long, they only used half a kiwi. In a place like Thailand one cam have anything the way one wants. Had he asked for more kiwi they would have used more kiwi, perhaps for a few more baht they would gladly have done it his way. How can anyone mess up a smoothie? Just put the fruit in a blender with some ice and in his case his coconut juice and blend. Even far more experienced help would have turned out the same smoothie. Or when he couldn't stand the place he rented he was so upset, because it stunk to high heaven, but after complaining he was offered the place for free he was really happy???? Or when he got an upset stomach, he made a video "i will never eat Thai food again". First he blamed the Thai food, then it might have been the soy sauce, then the garlic, then his weak stomach but after all that he thought it was the stinky garbage he had laying around and he is still going on about that episode even on this volg. Never mind that after that episode a few vlogs later it was about "how I found the best Thai food in Pattaya" His opinions are more erratic than a weathervane in a hurricane. After this long tirade the conclusions should be obvious. Show the place and very little of your face and when you have an opinion stick to it or if he changes his mind do it in a graceful was and not blame everyone else for his decisions. In the smoothie case he could have said that it wasn't that bad and he could have later said that the smoothie wasn't that bad but that he didn't recommend it, instead of going after the help.

@@havaianuu I have seen his growth, and if you give him pointers he takes and uses them in his vlogs. For example someone said to say prices on items and directions of places, he started doing that. I don't think this is his main job but he's trying it to be so just help him out to improve Im sure he'll appreciate it.
