+Kelly Chaimberlain Actually, this event in Rizal Park and other Muslim celebrations in other parts of the Philippines were reported all over the news today to cover our Filipino Muslim brothers' celebration of Eid al-Fitr. In fact, Eid al-Fitr and also Eid al-Adha or the Feast of the Sacrifice were declared as annual regular holidays all over the Philippines. We don't have work & classes on these special days to be one with our Muslim brothers in their observance of these important and holy events for the Muslims although majority of the Filipinos are Catholics/Christians. Freedom of religion is guaranteed and protected by the Philippine Constitution.

media here usually still has to show respect during muslim holy events and its widely celebrated by muslims all over the country and very much respected by the rest of the population. Problem mostly comes when they try to add politics into the belief system and then it becomes a mess. Politics and religion dont go well together. Luckily our president is from the south so he can be a medium for the marginalised ones since he understands them best and not just muslims but pretty much everyone no ,matter the background
